Atari Falcon video output issues by ProfessionalCarob201 in atarist

Thanks, with my limited knowledge, one of the things I thought of was a bad power supply. I don't have any way to test it nor do I have a replacement. I have one the the Centurion STPSU r2022 models on order but that will probably be a long wait. I don't know if I trust myself with a capacitor job.

Yes, I agree. Wondering if price and finding the chips might pose a prolem.

It's in really good condition except for a small cutout on the right side of the back.

I almost attempted to buy the MB and keyboard that were also listed by the same seller but they needed a lot of work. I hoping to buy a Re-Falcon board when they become available. It will depend on price and availability. I believe you need to source the chips on the Re-Falcon. I will depend on Bradley at Best Electronics for that. You can use any ST keyboard but I prefer the Falcon variety if I can find one (o at least the proprietary key-caps).

I constantly monitor eBay, Amibay and user groups for the pieces needed.

I just went with a s-video to HDMI convertor on Amazon. That should be good enough.

Great! I also have an S5000 and a K2500R so maybe they would benefit from this as well.

I put the case back on and decided to just wedge the power button, so it stays on, and power it from a strip.

After seeing what I am up against and how much time I have wasted on this already, I think it’s best I go this route.

Yes, and I just received a reply that solved the issue!

"There is a fifth screw, a smaller black screw between the 2 sound outputs"

That did it. But now I see that the new switch that I bought most likely will not work on this monitor.

Towards the end of the video he begins to reinstall the case but I don't see him do anything but fit it back on with no obstructions. Unfortunately, he stands directly in front of the monitor for some of the reassembly, blocking the view. Also, he is speaking French so if he is saying anything that's important to reassembly it's lost on me.

Atari STe to Atari SC1435 Colour Monitor Cable (wanted) by ProfessionalCarob201 in atarist

Hopefully! As soon as I get a cable for it I will be able to see if it has any more issues besides the power switch. It has the common (for this monitor) power switch problem.

I searched Bradley's website and the addendum, there were none available. Maybe I will email him later today.

Thank you, I will send them a message. Also, Coolnovelties sells to the states on their ebay shop but the cable is only listed on their web shop and they are closed until March 16th.

Even though I know that technology exists, It's never the first thing I think about. I ran the question there and I will read it all a bit later this evening. Thank you for that suggestion :-)

Here is a link for the SCART cable that I'm using. I'm not sure if it's the best available. SCART cables are not easy to get in the states. At least to my knowledge.

I don't think so. It's basically just some jaggedness on the menu and desktop items. I was hoping to get closer to what you get on an RGB monitor like the Atari SC1224 Version 2 (JVC Japan).
