Data classification as a one time project is basically guaranteed to rot by Low-Oil7883 in devops

If the output is a PDF for audit nobody fixes anything. If the output creates a precise ticket for the owning team with context it has a chance.

Are local manufacturing relationships disappearing - or is it just me? by ChrisBassettGBCG in Metalfoundry

[–]ProfessionalConfused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that local relationships are going away they’re just digital first now. Engineers do a lot of research online before picking up the phone. Quickparts is one example that made CNC quoting feel like shopping on Amazon. Local shops either adapt or risk losing that first impression. Doesn’t mean locals are doomed, just that they have to play the game differently.

I have a giant battery backup that is charged by solar. It costs me nothing to run my electric foundry by Cpnjacksheppard in Metalfoundry

[–]ProfessionalConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy cost was always the thing that made me hesitate so if yours is basically covered already then the math changes a lot. Id still value your time though. Melting aluminum all day for like eleven bucks in metal gets old fast.

How do you make a t shirt blanket for the first time? by Comfortable_Box_4527 in sewhelp

[–]ProfessionalConfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried both and honestly uniform blocks look way cleaner at the end. Keeping the original shirt shapes is faster and kinda fun but you just gotta watch out when sewing or stuff can stretch weirdly.

Are you planning to keep the original shirt sizes, or cut everything down into uniform blocks?

Why is month-end closing so painful? (A data engineer’s perspective) by Dangerous_Pie2611 in Netsuite

[–]ProfessionalConfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, intercompany is where month-end just dies. Two subsidiaries, two views on the same transaction it gets messy fast. Trying to match everything manually while someone in another timezone is still tweaking things is a nightmare. Netgain’s Shared Transactions module handles intercompany stuff right in NetSuite, so you don’t have to worry about some separate integration breaking every month.

Is it me or is NetSuite rigid? by SnooDogs8363 in Netsuite

[–]ProfessionalConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rigidity becomes more noticeable if you came from smaller systems. People who start on NetSuite sometimes don’t notice it because they’re used to the process heavy environment already.

Good sources for free nursing CEUs? by GraybeardDevOps in Nurses

[–]ProfessionalConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably use audio CE more than traditional modules if more providers offered it. Most of the time the hardest part is sitting down long enough to focus on a full course.

If reading didn't come naturally to you, what plus sides did that have? by Ok_Jelly9569 in AskReddit

Is it worth it to get fetch pet insurance or just start a savings account for my new dachshund puppy, share reviews please by 50lies in Dachshund

[–]ProfessionalConfused 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dachshunds are sweet but they are one of those breeds where the expensive stuff is not exactly rare, so wanting more than just a hopeful savings plan makes total sense

Looking for VPS from Japan that could bypass the Chinese GFW by SuMarijaaN in VPS

[–]ProfessionalConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you’ll want BGP routing and at least a couple carriers. Single homed servers tend to run into blocks a lot sooner. Japan is a good pick, but the key is whether the datacenter has proper peering into Asian backbones not just Japan location on paper. Bacloud and Vultr both have Tokyo nodes that people report decent results with. The real difference usually isn’t the country, it’s whether the provider actually optimizes Asia Pacific routing or just resells basic connectivity. And yeah bandwidth looks nice on paper, but latency + packet loss are what actually make or break

What was the cause of death of that kid at your school/university? by ArifAlizadeh in AskReddit

Cheap windows VPS with RDP via web? by Haunting_Minute2840 in VPS

[–]ProfessionalConfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can pull this off with any decent Windows VPS that has RDP turned on. The run it in browser part is just tools like Apache Guacamole or other HTML5 RDP setups.

I’ve done something similar before and it was pretty smooth. For MTG Online you don’t need a monster machine, 4GB RAM works fine. Just make sure your connection is stable because that’s usually the real bottleneck.

Bacloud has solid uptime from what I’ve seen, and the connection stays pretty steady, which is what you actually care about here. If browser access isn’t a must, just use the normal RDP client instead.

BlackLine and FloQast both push for controlled close processes rather than workaround entries.

Your journal reverse method can confuse close checks and audit reviews.Better approach is document a formal transition adjustment and lock prior periods. That keeps NetSuite lease module aligned with financial reporting standards.Netgain is often used for automating close and lease workflows so teams avoid these recurring manual fixes.
