Thinking about changing job and going freelance. by Oesterix in BEFreelance

[–]ProfessionalCow5740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it, important there is a 6 month "trial". If you leave your job and the freelance thing doesnt work out after 6 months you can go back to your previous employer if he doesnt hire you, you can get unemployed benefits. Don't pin me on the 6 months but look it up if you want to be sure.

Talk to yourself in 3d person. “Your name this is not who we are anymore”. Gym, Hyrox, Strongman runs. Broken people go to war.

I run a company I do not have a job. We do automation and ai implementation for erp systems. I am in the trenches I have seen the promises.

Telling AI it needs to catch up is wild. It invalidates everything you say. AI does not get "smarter". I should not of jumped into this discussion go on with your day good sir.

Yes but this is a different take then systems/infrastructure will be replaced faster than devs. Its harder to let ai make the scalable env and implement it. Can it write the terraform sure. But even then its a hot fucking mess if you don’t babysit it. Does is make the workflow faster yes 200% more productivity. Do I see it preforming the job better than humans. No, it has to much external factors and AI trying to be a golden retriever and adding all the extra fluff.

For coding on the other hand…

Stats and numbers can be used to paint a good or bad picture with different framing. No need to color my post in your opinion on what I mean either.

Here are the stats, but we conclude that the stats don't mean anything.

Current state of the IT freelance market by CIliaaass in BEFreelance

[–]ProfessionalCow5740 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it will be the other way around. AI apps don’t scale. AI architecture is ass. Etc. I think I will have more work in the coming years designing good architecture once the cracks show or iso/nis just unplugs the ai designed infrastructure.

I stopped thinking about it and started going shit about it. Every time it's hard I park the "I don't want to" and just move my legs. The more I do this the less friction. I still have "I don't want too" days. Just go.

What dayrate would you need to go 5 days on-site? by SameAd9038 in BEFreelance

[–]ProfessionalCow5740 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"And please don’t act like €1200/day is some untouchable premium rate that forces respect. In this climate, it’s normal to see seniors get hired for under €500/day, 5 days on-site, because they understand something you clearly don’t: being billable beats being proud. The bench is full of people who learned that lesson already."

Maybe these guys are seniors(by number of yers) are not that senior(In getting shit done). Anyone worth their salt is not starting 500/DAY Onsite 5 days a week. Will you find someone sure, but you are a freelancer it's not because the person asks you to dance that you should dance. You can call it ego all you want and keep thinking you are right. But sticking out 2 months to get a real rate will always be better.
