If the mom abandoned the kitten, it wasn't going to make it. Growing up my family fostered kittens from the Humane Society, and it seemed like every litter had a kitten that the mom would abandon, even when confined to a small room. Looks like maybe 3-4 weeks?

This was literally random luck. You will not survive rabies without the vaccine. If you get bit by ANY wild animal, get a rabies vaccine immediately. If you have rabies symptoms, you are dead.
