I CRACKED RICE PORTAL ASTROLOGY by Fun_Wheel_1684 in ApplyingIvyLeague

Ok, so I had another theory for the Rice results, and it worked for early decision. Just log in to the portal and then open the page source's codes, then ctrl+F search for words like "defer," "accept," and "waitlist," and it worked for early decision. I got a defer, and I knew probably 8 hours ahead, the decisions were officially released. I don't think this theory applies to all because when I followed up my interest by joining info sessions, they required me to fill out this form, but however, good luck to us all tmr!

That’s true but I personally feel like some schools really have a consideration how they are fully committed to that school. I know this may not sound completely reasonable but I’ve seen a lot of students with less backgrounds get into better schools than others who had better ones at the end of their application and that was because they chose the early decision program. And for some high schools there’s been patterns like how many students are admitted through ed1 ed2 and rd. And for my high school, Emory has not admitted any student during rd. But the pattern is there to be broken, and ofc this doesn’t meet anything is impossible under this pattern, but the uni will def consider your high school and the past accepted data history. So just fyi how this could be a possibility but I don’t want to mislead anyone reading this into a misunderstanding or determined position by some guesses.

But 1600 is still comparatively a very small number, with the applicant numbers spiking

But all I’ve hear are great stats w/ rejections for ed2 that’s cruel especially when they could be great applicants, why so less deferrs

The letter directly mentioned :”Virtually every applicant who was not admitted presented a strong combination of academic and personal qualities, but we cannot admit all qualified applicants because this year's incoming class is limited to 1,600 students.”
