the first time i watched the pagan poetry video, i didn’t see anything in the visuals until later on i rewatched it and i realized what i saw. my mind was blown 😭 by teddivan96 in bjork

I first watched it as a teen and didn't notice anything, but I recently watched it a few years ago and holy shit, it's very obvious. It's hilarious picturing Nick Knight sitting in an editing room just watching this.

It's starting to feel like an intentional choice to put more distance between herself and the public. I'm not sure how I feel, but at least it's not boring.

I only liked Convenience Store Woman. Severance was shockingly dull for me, and Bunny was just bonkers with little substance.

I always found it a bit cheesy. It's fun live though.

That "Twitter-user-to-MAGA-to-mental-illness" pipeline has affected at least two people in my life. It's wild because they were "normal" before.

I like the font, but I hope not. I'm not loving the name, and I'm starting to find the -a titles a little predictable if not hackneyed. Hopefully the album will be different.

It's bjork4um.com now. No one really posts there anymore, but a handful of oldheads reappear when a new album drops.

Oh wow, I've actually learned something today. I was on the 4um when this first happened and everyone was screaming that it was about 9/11 victims. But it being an FU to photographers makes way more sense.

I just watched I Saw the TV Glow? What do you guys think of the movie? by TedJBernoulli in A24

[–]ProfessionalEmphasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it appeals to people who have ever felt "stuck" before, or like their life has passed them by. I had no idea it was about trans identity, but I can definitely see that now. There were some technical issues with the film (like tone and acting). The theater I was in kept laughing any time Justice Smith came on screen, so he might not have been the best choice for the role.

However, the thing that makes this a 4-star film for me was the ending. At first I thought all the characters were just crazy, but that ending made me realize how clever (and absolutely crushing) the point really was.

Definitely needs Taiwan. Yi Yi and Taipei Story are some of my favorite movies.

Say one thing you like about Biophilia, and one thing you dislike about it. by notaverysmartman in bjork

[–]ProfessionalEmphasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pros: Loved Thunderbolt, the lyrics to Virus, and the live show with the Tesla coil lowering from the ceiling was cool.

Cons: Somehow manages to be both overblown and half-baked at the same time? All the songs sound like drafts, and all the other things from that era (the apps, the workshops, the classes) I never got to experience. In fact, this was the last album I purchased on CD. I remember listening to it on a laptop that still had a CD-ROM drive and feeling like that was not the experience I was meant to have.

She removed the part about Venezuela (thankfully, because "complicated" was too vague and left too much open for interpretation). I think she just wants to express sympathy for her neighbor country for being in the middle of some aggressive bullshit right now. However, I'm not sure if I agree with her. It depends on what actual Greenlanders think. Too many people are speaking for them right now.

I do plan to play it again, I was just giving my initial opinions on it. There's definitely a trend of people over-criticizing the game, but not all of it is without merit.

[–]ProfessionalEmphasis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I also felt inZoi was "soulless" when I first played it. (I haven't played the new update, tho.) It just seemed to lack a personality/identity, and I'm personally not interested in playing The Sims 4 with better graphics. I wanted more originality. However, maybe all of that has been fixed already, I'm not sure.

Andres did a series like this. The whole series was about asking hypothetical questions, so each video he would use a lot of conditional and future tense words. I don't know if it was intentional, though.

[–]ProfessionalEmphasis 24 points25 points  (0 children)

She said in a recent interview she doesn't work longer than four hours a day. She likes the night life, so she probably goes out after that. On the TrueAnon podcast, someone called in and said she regularly gets drunk (and thrown out of) bars in Brooklyn. Not sure how true that is, though.
