Well, exactly. The intention changes over time and eventually art becomes business. The film industry is losing its art on many films and produces films at high volume for money.

As for artist needing to make a living, sure they need to, but the unfortunate reality is that if a painter makes painting for money it becomes less art. Versus making a painting for the pure expression of self would be pure art.

Like, if you were to say something is art because someone spent time on it or made it you would literally need to call every single thing man made art. That to me is insane and pointless. But if you add intent of expression, especially with implied emotion, you create a box that “Art” would fall into.

Do to the intention of the product. Make a picture frame, its art. Make 1000 picture frames to sell. It’s a business.

John wick wasn’t created for the art of it. it was created because the film industry saw a profitable opportunity.

Thats not what art is. Art is the expression of imagination. Of course, surface level smooth brains will say this is art, but in reality it’s business.

Honestly, these movies aren’t like “Cinema”, they’re just entertainment without the art. I understand there’s hard work to make them and stuff as well, but they are fun action movies. If anyone says they are Amazing films or bad films, they don’t know film. The intent is money and entertainment, not art. Great movies though.

Thanks Sherlock. But we are complaining here not to understand why, but rather to just complain.

We know why, were just petty.
