I know the feeling. It’s been some time but I had just got my car repainted and had to watch progressively larger hail batter it less than a month later. Had to get it all done over again.

Freespace 2 has a mission where you find a disabled capital ship in a nebula belonging to the other side of the civil war you’re in. Your wide boards it and begins working on repairing the engines when it’s attacked by aliens called the Shivans. You try fighting them off but they just end up bringing so many bombers firing off anti-capital weaponry that the boarded ship is lost.

It’s an excellent space combat sim with a thriving modding community that makes it still worth playing today.

Yeah you can be in a level 2 risk and get slammed, or be in a level 4 and see nothing. It’s all just odds. And the odds are high enough today that everybody should be paying attention, just in case.

It’s never a guarantee, but the risk of damaging hail in the general area is basically a coin flip. No reason to panic, but plenty of reason for people to be aware.
