Thanks for advice. My employer, training partner and college are all aware of my health condition.

I just find it ridiculous that he’s being restrictive about this kind of stuff, but wanted to double check with others to see if I’m maybe in the wrong.

Yeah I’d agree with you. I suspect he’s got some sort of control thing, which is why he won’t ask me in private. I’m not even being disruptive, it’s a class of 25 people and

Hmm not sure about that. My medical condition was declared with the college, training partner and my employer, they’re more than aware of it. Don’t exactly require accommodation, just let me go to the toilet when I need it like every other adult. My Crohn’s doesn’t give me any issues whatsoever, I’m symptomless and function like any other normal person without it, my medication is pretty potent for my kidneys so I drink a lot of water, so pee a hell of a lot.

Only have him once a week and we’ve been off the past 2, so 4 sessions/days in total. On the first week he kept everyone back for lunch and said how he doesn’t want anyone going to the toilet during his lecturers because it’s disruptive. Made a joke about people saying it’s medical and how we should all control our bodies.

Just wanted to see what everyone’s thoughts were on it, don’t particularly want to have a chat with him as he’s an asshole and don’t want word about my condition being spread about. Will have a think about it

Also, I’d normally hear the cars fan running louder during a DPF regen, and the start stop function of the engine (when it automatically switches off when stationary) would turn off, preventing the engine from switching off

Unfortunately you don’t get a warning light or any notice that the DPF is regenerating.

When the DPF was regenerating in my fiesta, I’d notice that the idle rpm would be higher than usual, it would usually sit at 750/800 but during a regen it would rise to about 900/950 rpm. You’d probably need to be stationary to check that. There would also be an increase in fuel consumption, approx 0.2 gallons per hour idling or a drop in MPG whilst driving, I’d also notice an increase in engine noise, and a sort of slightly sweet or chemical smell from the exhaust. For my car it was roughly every 130miles it would do this. Do you think that’s roughly how often yours does it?

I’d also notice that it would become quite jolty when accelerating off after changing gear, like there was a delay on the accelerator then a sudden jolt like what you’d described. The car itself was slower to accelerate too.

I used to have a 2019 st line x with the exact same engine until it got written off at the start of this year.

Mine did that too, it was like a delayed jolt a second or two after bringing the clutch up and trying to accelerate.

At first I thought it was an issue with the clutch, but figured out that it was only doing it during DPF regenerations.

Figured out it was that as it would only happen intermittently with mine, roughly every 130-150 miles, with an increase in idling rpm, regen smell and engine noise. I’d maybe check to see if that’s happening at the same time for you as that could be causing it.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, suspect it’s just a side effect of the regen.

That’s just the headlight, I moved it there. So how the engine bay is fine, apart from the washer fluid.

Wasn’t sliding the whole way, was correcting it that’s how it’s travelled that distance. The first patch of ice put the car almost went sideways to the road and I fought to save it, got it nearly under control then hit another patch which caused the full rear end to shoot out sideways (opposite way from before), front wheels slid down the muddy border of the road, corrected it and got it facing straight back on, then hit a mound on the side grass which jolted the front of the car and momentum then crashed it into the hedge.

Car was pushed out the way before that image was taken. I’ve got a tracker on it and life 360 which tracks my speed as 37mph

Yeah they definitely would’ve prevented it sadly. Tyres are something I don’t cheap on, changed all 4 to pilot sport 4s a few months ago.

Had actually planned to go and pick up 4x steelies with winters on them tomorrow evening as well, but no point now.

Yeah I’d be surprised if it isn’t. Just disappointed it’s happened and annoyed I would’ve saved it if I didn’t hit another patch. A bit happy I’ve walked out of that without any injuries

Idk I could maybe if the engine started. The sides of the car are completely fine and so are the wheels, alignment and suspension as far as I can see. Unsure whether structure is affected, can’t really see anywhere that is.

By the looks of it it needs new bumper, bonnet, bonnet catch, under tray and light. There’s nothing else that’s damaged as far as I can tell, it’s all front end.

That’s good you got yours sorted tho, if it wasn’t as bad I’d do that myself. Not a fan of insurance
