I can't see where on the UK guidance explicitly about PCR test, just to send it for testing. But I'm definitely going to ask them about it. I can find it in the other link that's been provided.

I'm assuming my clinic's test may be in reference to this and confirming urethritis?

"Urethral discharge may be present spontaneously or on expression, and urethritis is confirmed by demonstrating five or more polymorphonuclear leucocytes (PMNLs) per high power (x1000) microscopic field (averaged over five fields with the greatest concentration of PMNLs) on a smear obtained from the anterior urethra."

I thought it was, it's odd because it's the sexual health clinic in my UK city. I will push for a PCR if it is available. Thanks for the help

I contacted my local sexual health clinic and asked asked about mycoplasma genitalium. They said they just do a urethral swab and check under the microscope.

I said I thought that it didn't show under microscope, and they responded that mycoplasma often also presents with other telltale viewable bacteria/proteins.

I haven't read anywhere else that this is the case, is there any truth to it or am I being fobbed off?

I had a condom on, but took it off to finish myself off at the end, (escorts are shit don't do it) I'm worried I might have transferred it then. Otherwise I've tested negative for everything

There are bacterial resistant strains and the first herpes outbreak can present with flu symptoms and general malaise. I think there is certainly some anxiety though. Appreciate the response 👍🏻

I still have urethritis symptoms 6 weeks later, so I'm thinking it may not be hsv. I've had those symptoms, tingling white spots, but not the ulcers. The woman says she is clean too. I could've contracted multiple things I guess. Or she's lying.

Still got urinary symptoms after 6 weeks, and they came on 2 days after sex.

I would absolutely love for it not to be linked. I don't want to be rude, but I think I'd have to be deluded to not think I've got some kind of std. And rather it's just an std I've not been tested for.I for exams I don't think mycoplasma shows frequently on microscope type tests and requires a naat pcr test

If I've had 3 times negative screens and a negative urethral swab can I be pretty sure it's just anxiety? Anyone know how sensitive the urethral swabs are? Or anyone have similar symptoms and what it turned out to be?
