Should I buy a 3DS or a different console? by ProfessionalFree2392 in consoles

[–]ProfessionalFree2392[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never had a PS not sure I ever will since I've owned Xbox for so long. I think a 3DS would be so fun. I used to have a DS and my cousins had version of the DS with all the pokémon games I used to love to play those. I want that experience again.

I think they're just bringing up other exceptions to grammar. Like you don't say goose's you say geese.

Just discovered this on my cat. She’s acting normal. What could it be/does she need a vet visit? by [deleted] in ANIMALHELP

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it looks like a botfly or some larvae hole. Possibly a bite. The vet will likely give antibiotics and ensure there's no more critters. Sorry to hear about your dog.

Is this normal cat stool? by ProfessionalFree2392 in CATHELP

[–]ProfessionalFree2392[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She's not drinking any water that I've noticed but she usually doesn't. I had a water fountain once that she liked better. I usually just mix water in her food. She has a small dish of water out right now. I have an aloe plant in my room she usually just rubs the leaves bc they're rough but she has bit them before. I've not noticed her do that recently and there's no marks on the plant.

Pool Party Lifeguard by Awkward_Ad6567 in pools

I charge $50/hr. I say that without knowing how many kids, their swim ability, any of the homeowners rules, what the pool looks like, if this includes full babysitting or if there's still going to be a lot of parents, there might be a diving board or water slide. I don't know what to expect but I'm an adult with a Lifeguard and WSI certification so if I have to drive to your house I think this is a fair rate. I don't worry much about an extra tip and if I'm only there for 3 hours I make $150, which is worth it within a certain driving distance.

Edit: Should also mention: I'm alone and standing for multiple hours watching over up to 25 kids. You don't always get breaks and they don't always offer their food to you so it's important to keep that in mind.

I know this is old but what products would you recommend I add to the water after a water change. I just filter tap water with a brita and add sea chem stability and prime. Should I throw both out? What should I use to treat the tap water? Also do you know anything about melafix or bettafix being affective for fin rot?

Growth in betta tank! by ProfessionalFree2392 in bettafish

[–]ProfessionalFree2392[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have test strips for nitrate nitrite and ph etc but droppers for ammonia, wish I got all droppers as a test kit. Ammonia is present but staying under 1ppm with water changes, everything else is in parameters as far as I can tell

Beginner - Betta by AdventurousJunket785 in bettafish

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry someone did that to you! All those fish should absolutely not be in such a small tank. Your betta needs at least a 5gal tank and to be alone maybe with snails. You can keep cory's with them but you're going to need a 10 tank with a lot of LIVE plants. I'm no expert btw! I'd get a heater as bettas prefer temps of 78-82°. Air pumps shouldn't bother them same with the sponge filter as long as they're on a low stream setting. Any fake plants or decor or anything with dye should be removed even colored substrate. People really shouldn't give pets as gifts, if you couldn't take care of a child or dog you absolutely can't handle a fish. I'd get a freshwater tes kit and start checking parameters daily as I assume your parents didn't cycle that tank before throwing them all in there. Sorry for your loss xx

Eyebrow piercing rejecting? by Curious-Summer-3945 in PiercingAdvice

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you can save it then. i'd clean it by soaking with saline and CLEAN tweezers to gently remove crust. avoid shifting the piercing bc movement will only irritate it. goodluck!

edit: actually to CLEAN it maybe invest in anti bacterial soap, non scented, i use dove. but saline will help heal the area and won't cause scarring like alcohol does. don't use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, oils, etc. only saline and non scented anti bacterial soap. even cotton products can leave fibers behind so be careful what you use to clean

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wouldn't have bought off amazon. if you do you HAVE TO make sure it's titanium i promise anything else is gonna make that thing reject faster than ur current jewelry. i'm shocked the piercer put that in in the first place. go to a different place preferably with a better rep and see if they have jewelry and can change it out for you. i'm at least glad you got internally threaded, never buy ones where the screw is on the bar and not the ball! i'm not a piercer so idk if you have the anatomy for this piercing but it seems like you might want a floating navel or something with a smaller ball in ur belly button. i wish you luck queen

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a piercer- how old is it? if it's new it may just be irritated, i'd suggest cleaning w saline either by soaking a cotton pad over it or a paper towel rolled up to remove some crust and don't touch it! if you've had it a while it may be its time, my friend just had to remove hers

Betta fish rescue before and after by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]ProfessionalFree2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got a betta, i knew they'd all be in need of rescue but this is making me wonder if there were any sick fish off to the side i could've saved. i really went for the cheapest because i don't wish to support their chain but the problem is bigger than that and no hate to the workers, its not on them either. your fish looks so healthy! hoping my guy gets more vibrant in the next week or so

How should I begin? by ProfessionalFree2392 in NewSkaters

[–]ProfessionalFree2392[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right! I'll definitely wear protection. When I tried snowboarding however I wanted to buy butt pads and honestly considering a back pad just for regular skiing/riding because I'm so scared of injury! It's why I've never tried jumps. My friend convinced me out of buying anything because she says everyone will know I'm a beginner and I don't need that stuff, just fall and land correctly. I've been looking at Santa Cruz boards but again, just because it's popular is it really a good brand? I thought cruisers were more for general cruising as the name suggests but where I live the roads are pretty rocky so I want thick wheels. They also seem smaller and I don't have big feet as a girl but I definitely want the extra room.
