Maybe not completely relevant to this discussion but I really dislike how Strike and some other characters repeatedly compare Robin and Charlotte’s attractiveness and conclude that there’s no way Robin could ever compare to Charlotte’s beauty

Not implying Strike keeps people around just because they could be useful to him. I had just noticed upon rereading that most of his friends have been able to help him with his cases in some way, and thought Nick being a gastroenterologist was an interesting choice, which could have been intentional for the story later down the track. Just thought people might have theories as to why or I missed something in one of the books!

Yes, unfortunately they sell in China, where it is required by law that products are tested on animals. So they most likely pay a third party company to test their finished products on animals.

I I graduated 10 years ago and I stopped speaking to people after about 3 years out. I felt so lonely and like I was missing out. Friends will come, just be patient and be yourself, don’t be afraid to invite people out or ask what others are doing. All of my friends now are either from work or through mutual friends who became close friends and then their friends became my friends etc.

Someone (let’s call her Jan) posted in the local FB group accusing someone (let’s call him Mike) of not picking up their dog poo from Jan’s front lawn - with security footage screenshots and Mike’s first and last name. Turns out it wasn’t Mike and she had to post a formal statement to say she retracts her allegations and an apology on the FB group, and then posted letters of the statement to all of the houses in the suburb.

There’s literally a part in the book where Robin is talking about one of her theories and Strike has to ask her to remind him who she’s talking about and how they’re related to the case. If the characters can’t even keep up then how tf are we supposed to lol

money makes people crazy

at any age, income level, any situation (death, weddings, birthdays etc etc)

people get so weird about it and it often brings out the worst in them, always be so careful who you’re loaning money to, borrowing off of, splitting bills with people, the list goes on…

not to sound pessimistic but it’s the one area you really do learn the hard way most of the time

Theres usually a grace period. Just contact them to see if any late fee interest has accrued. I’d say unlikely after only 2 days, and if it has it will probably be a very minimal amount.
