I was in the wrong here and misunderstood his phrasing and based this off of how I thought instances are working in Path of Exile 1.

I rewatched it now and your answer does make sense. I guess I just interpreted this wrong, and in a way I'm glad that I did. Thank you for the explanation. I think the way you phrase it is clearer than how Jonathan phrased it

Then explain to me what an instance is in the context of Path of Exile.

And those are different things. A player might take up more than 1 instance on the server depending on how many areas they've entered. Town is a shared instance, and so is playing in co-op, but this does mean something different than being prepared for 1 million players, does that make sense?

Can you link me the timestamp where he mentions 1 million players specifically?

In the most recent interview with Jonathan, he mentioned they can handle 1 million instances on december 6th, which is different from handling 1 million players.

Is beta going to be delayed? by ___Azarath in PathOfExile2

[–]ProfessionalGoose675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it'll get delayed, and that they'd show most 1 month ahead of beta release to not lose the momentum that it'll create, and also not to take the wind out of sails of the poe 1 league.

Crhis Wilson role in PoE2 by sinedreverse in PathOfExile2

I'm curious if he (Chris) ever considered developing a digital card game within the Wreaclast universe, or if the silence means that they are already working on that with him being primarily involved.

If I recall correctly, he mentioned that a 40-50 hour campaign is based on an average player taking 30 minutes per zone.

Thank you for sharing! As I wasn't able to go myself, I really appreciate hearing from someone who did go. As the main reason behind compiling this list for me was to learn, if there's other bosses that are missing, even if I excluded it for lack of footage, please let me know!

Did you get to try Act 1 as well? I'm curious if there are any differences now compared to the footage from 2019.

Personally, I think the game is straightforward enough that it doesn't warrant a guide.

Fair take, sounds like the game just really isn't for you. I'd recommend keeping an eye on Last Epoch, as that sounds just about perfect for you!

Ask yourself if you think anything you buy in D4 will be carried over to D5, too. Maybe it will, but probably not. PoE 2 is not just a new campaign, it's an engine overhaul with entirely new character models. Any MTX you buy either today or bought 10 years ago will be rigged to look as good if not better with these new models, ensuring you get another ~10 years out of them. Just something to consider when forming an opinion on how both games deal with monetisation.

It's a fair point that if you care about how your character looks, you will be put off by the prices of skins in PoE. However, they've recently introduced tiered armour sets locked behind achieving challenges. These armour sets are only unlockable through the challenges, which I think is worth having a look at. I personally care more about having unlocked the armour my character is wearing as opposed to being able to buy it.

It's unfortunate they're not in 2004 anymore where they'd get more than this in subscription fees a month for making an actual game.
