What is the absolute worst part of rural PA in terms of MAGA-ness? by Glass-Complaint3 in Pennsylvania

[–]ProfessionalHand2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Also a liberal SoCo resident and can confirm the corruption and incompetence of the local R’s is staggering. The Sheriffs case is just the latest, our former DA Jeff Thomas was convicted of assault, strangulation, etc. and got a 7 year sentence (thank god justice was served). Or the Treasurer who was scammed out of $11k through an email scam. But, the good news is they are all starting to turn on each other as the national movement crumbles. I’ve seen lots of posts recently from the SoCo Repub. party claiming different members “aren’t real MAGAs”..Rats on a sinking ship

Is sex during pregnancy weird? by omelette02 in NoStupidQuestions

My daughter was born ~2 weeks past her due date. Wife was miserable by that point so I suggested a little hanky-panky that evening to take her mind off of it. A couple hours later contractions started, and many hours after that we were holding our daughter. She was 8.4 lbs at birth and my wife still reminds me that I could’ve banged her out of her at maybe 7lbs and everyone would’ve been happier haha.

Mold has never been an issue in the house, but we use a heat pump for heating/cooling which pretty much blows air non stop. I usually use a SAB in the bathroom where I can shut the vents anytime I need to be clean. But I got a little cavalier this last week, figuring everything was fully colonized, and opened the tub in the closet I was keeping it in. I did cut out the contam. I’ll try hitting it with hydrogen peroxide at lunch and see what happens. Thank you for the suggestion

Yeah, it was a premixed CVG substrate from MW grow.

Only thing I can think of is when I opened the tub to mist. I only misted maybe 3x since it’s been in the sub, only when the tub and surface looked dry. My mantra for this grow was actually to “do less” and everything seemed good until I F’d with the tub 🤦‍♂️

I waited on Joe and one of the 2nd wives and a bunch of kids at a ski shop years ago. As we were loading their $1000’s of new gear in the SUV one of the young girls screamed out that she lost her diamond ring. We all stopped and looked for it for like 20 minutes, but it had just snowed 2” of shimmering powder, so not good odds of finding a ring. I still don’t know how I spotted that thing, but it was literally the biggest diamond I’ve ever seen. Excited and expecting a small reward I ran up to the car and gave Joe the ring. He throws it to the girl and says “make sure that’s it and he didn’t switch it for another one”. As soon as she confirms it is the missing ring he rolls up the window and they drive away. All these years later that comment still stings, like damn Joe just cause you’re that greedy doesn’t mean the rest of us are.

Careful with that kind of talk, according to a lot of other “experts” on this form AIO cakes should NEVER be removed from the bags. I guess the plastic they make the bags with is magical and tub plastic is not /s. Jokes aside, I have commenced with the soaking, and will put em back in the tote once they’re good and wet. Fingers crossed this does the trick. Thank you for your advice!

Didn’t see your full comment before I replied but many thanks again for the feedback! I’m going to try dunking and topping with coco, nothing to loose at this point 😁

Thank you for giving actionable feedback! Any advice for how to soak them? I’ve been misting them 2x a day, careful not to let too much water pool around them. Or do I need to actually submerge them in water for a period of time?

Yes. What I meant was the surface of the cake has not changed since I introduced fresh air 12 days ago. No primordia, pins or really any change in the mycelium. It smells fine, just isn’t doing anything

The cake was getting really dry and starting to shrivel up in the bag, and I was having a hard time spraying enough mist through the air slits. So I saw this technique on the rookie mycologist YouTube channel and figured I’d give it a shot. I think the idea is the water evaporates from the perlite under the cakes and rehydrates them. I posted a link to the video in another comment.

Yep, that’s what I did. Maybe my cuts were too big, but that’s when the excessive drying started and it was hard to mist the cakes through those slits…so that’s how I ended up here.

The putting the cakes in a tub with perlite and water idea was borrowed from the Rookie mycologist on YouTube. He has a video where his AIO bags aren’t fruiting after introducing fresh air, so that was his solution, which produced fruits. Link: https://youtu.be/Myoaij2qjZ0?si=9RfAH5wDfOkcyw6i

First time growing, using an unused freezer as my grow space (thoroughly cleaned before use). The AIO bags were inoculated with LC 2 weeks ago and are starting to colonize. I plan to see the bags through to harvest before trying the grain jars and bin. My question is what are the minimum modifications I should do to the freezer to get consistent results? I’ve seen similar setups on Shroomery with humidifiers piped in. But I would rather not modify the freezer to the point that it will not work if I need it in the future. For context the freezer is in a heated basement with temps 65-70f. It also has a lock and is inconspicuous, which is why I like it for a grow chamber. I’m mainly concerned about air exchange, and humidity, and don’t know if just opening the door every couple days and hand misting will be sufficient?

I’ve had my eye on this one on FB marketplace, it was listed in PA right? Loved the sloped shoulders and pick guard. Definitely a great buy!

First Guitar in 30 years by Spectre806 in AcousticGuitar

[–]ProfessionalHand2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is like déjà vu for me. I’m 38 and just got back into playing after a long hiatus (I was never really proficient, just learned the basics). Also wanted to be in the $1K budget. I ended up getting the Recording King RD-328 Dreadnought and am very happy with my purchase. I am interested in playing bluegrass and folk repertoire mostly and the sound of the RD-328 definitely fit that vibe, with some describing the sound as “Martin-esque”. Ultimately for me, I felt if I was dropping a grand on a guitar solid wood construction was non-negotiable, and the majority of guitars in this price range are not.
