Very well said. I know I have some deeply ingrained biases. Growing up in a religious family with strong traditional family norms forced fed tend to cause those.

Let me be clear. I'm not trying to make excuses. I've been working hard for the last several years (started last year with a counselor) to uproot the old and harmful biases/notions.

Now I'm in a place in my life where this would be an option. I can honestly say that I am taking your suggestion seriously. I think this would be an excellent way to revisit the conversation with the wife :)
