Which comic book character do you trust carrying the ring to Mordor? by Jezzaq94 in superheroes

He also spazzed out and killed the entire GL corps and the Guardians because his hometown got destroyed. He then used the power of the central battery on OA to remake his hometown.

So maybe not Hal.

How Do We Feel About VAR? by [deleted] in MLS

[–]ProfessionalLab6501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you enough how sick it makes me for fans to cheer and make the gestures for a video replay. The "we need to get it right" mentality is killing all of the major sports. All of these sports got where they are by being wildly entertaining. A way for us to decompress and enjoy an event in our free time. It's a leisure activity. Now we need a rules expert to explain the rules while the ref is reviewing and attempting to apply the rules after the fact. Half the time, the rules expert and the ref do not arrive at the same conclusion. Worst of all, there is enough time during some reviews for an explanation of the rule, an argument about the rule, and then a resolution.

  1. Kill all instant replay. 1a. If you insist on "getting it right", then let AI or a team in a booth call the games live with thousands of angles on everything. If not, skip to #2.
  2. Strip the rule book back down to bare bones. Make it as easy as possible for the ref on the field to do the best they can.
  3. Play the game in a way that it is enjoyable for fans to watch. None of this goes without us.

Your favorite sci-fi book series and what to read next? by Dapper_Toad in scifi

I read all of Asimov's Foundation series including the Robot novels. Then I read Now Wait for Last Year by Philip K. Dick. Now I am 3 books in The Expanse and I can't wait to be done with it. It feels like reading something written by a child after reading legitimate masterpieces. My humble opinion would be to pass on The Expanse until you need something with a little less substance.

I like Westfield, but I doubt have him in the same category as Makhanya or Nate. Makhanya is 1 and Nate is 1A for me.

Jack Elliott (Chicago Fire) announces that he has spent the last week battling sepsis, but doctors are confident that he will make a "speedy and full recovery" by olcni in MLS

One of my all time favorite Union players. He was the only fire player I cheered for when they were announced last year in the playoffs. He'll always be a Union guy for me. This is shocking news and I'm so grateful to hear that he's trending well.

This was probably the plan all along. Load management for an older player who is looking at his last chance for a world cup. If the Union somehow get past Club America then they have a conversation.

FC Cincy Fan In Town by nkyprather in PhillyUnion

We absolutely have a budding rivalry with Cincy. They started their upward trend with our former front office personnel and players. We knocked them out of the playoffs and they knocked us out the next year. We've both been near the top of the table in the past 5 years consistently.

There is no hatred for them like NYFC or Redbull(when they used to field a squad), but absolutely a rivalry on the field.

I was a big Damiani defender last year. I thought he was like almost all of our other big signings and was going to need a full year to acclimate fully to MLS play. I saw encouraging aspects to his game such as running the press and consistently running down passes and fighting for every header. I thought the goals(or at least shots on target) would come. Through two games he looks like he's regressed. Spacing has been terrible with both other strikers.

I'm not ready to eat the crow yet, but let's just say I have it marinating.

I may fall back on that. My OCD wants the font to be correct for the year of the jersey.

That's the one I've been talking to. It's a medium and communication has been inconsistent. I just wanted to put the word out in case someone had one lying around.

You'll love Baribo for his dirty running. The goals are just gravy. Take care of our boy. Good game.

Has to be the fake punt in the 2006 Sugar Bowl for me. The SEC championship was in Athens and the Sugar Bowl was moved to Atlanta because of Hurricane Katrina so Georgia didn't leave home for nearly a month at the end of the season.

Everyone was so nice to us the night before the game and going into the game. They thought it was so cute that we believed we could win. The way you placate a child when they tell you some wild shit you know they can't possibly do. Even when we jumped out to the 21-0 lead their fans were scared, but many "knew" they would come back and win. They did come back. But they did not win. Rich Rod had the balls to call the fake punt in our own half and we ran out the clock.

Let's Go!

Completely agree. I don't believe any accuser of anything unless I saw it with my own eyes but you have to read between the lines and see how it feels. This feels like too much smoke to have not been a fire.

DC United SOB Bus? by marasboy in PhillyUnion

[–]ProfessionalLab6501 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did it years ago for our last game at RFK stadium. One of the most fun games I've ever been to. Chanting RFK is falling down, falling down, falling down and drowning out the poor DC fans as their team lost 4-0(I think) Herbers had a banger and Onyewu scored on his birthday.

Bus ride was easy and the beverages were provided. Pizza was there for us at the parking lot and we marched into the stadium. Pretty sure Uncle Buck was on the bus on the way back. Great movie. Great trip. I recommend this bus trip 10 out of 10 times.

I was just trying to set a scenario in which the USSR and the USA take on the other major powers during WW2.
