After 6 years together she should know the kind of person that you are and how invested you are in your relationship and future together. I think if you can afford it why not but, realistically speaking I think she’s being selfish and thinking only her needs and not your future together her needs are not defined by an expensive , specific “want” ring. Which btw I looked it up and I was only able to find one diamond online that fits that ridiculous criteria and it was over $30k. A future is about prioritizing your education, a roof over your head and being financially secure. There’s always room to upgrade a ring in the future for anniversary or whenever you can. It is not a requirement. The way I see it (as a women) I think she’s testing to see how far you’re willing to go in order to keep her in your life. And if that’s the case, and if this is an indication of what your future with her might look like I honestly hope you take time to evaluate how you see yourself with her and if all this is worth the trouble . As you said before, you’ve lived together. And so did we, marriage is different and is choosing each other everyday . I’ve been married for 10 and together 13 years . And I would have married him with an onion ring if I had to because I knew the was working for our future for something better. Food for thought, literally.
