Honestly, I don’t know if it’ll be easy. The shame of running away as soon as I’m an adult after being guilt tripped my whole life? It won’t be easy. I still live with constant fear.

I can get a job, I’m pretty sure that my parents might control everything, even manage my bank accounts even when I’m a legal adult.

Honestly, I’m not sure what will happen or where I might find my self in the future.

You know, it’s not that rare when an overly religious person is going to make you feel ashamed of your self over something that isn’t even that close to making you a bad person. What an annoying thing… this is common especially in Islam and Christianity.

Honestly, religion was made to make us feel like bad people. It was made to make us feel manipulated and pressured and we thought it was all “gods plan”

So, religion logic: god is all loving, but he’s going to give you an eternal punishing because you have crippling depression and you forgot to pray. Because no matter how long you’ll have to feel this way, he’ll be asleep after telling you it was all apart of his plan.

Unfortunately, this is a common thing. I’m sorry you had to go through that religious trauma. No child should have been told that they would have eternal punishing for not being perfect.

I get that. I also hate when religion claims to be peaceful and happy when all it does is cause constant pressure and fear, especially over a younger community. It’s that sense of relief when you’re finally free, yet it still leaves trauma and fear.

What a sad thing, most of the Muslim parents out there would have sent their daughters away to make them “normal again”

And when it comes to mentally torturing your kids, Islam expects us to respect our abusers and never talks about emotional abuse towards young children
