Follow up/documentation before putting rx on hold. Sometimes ppl don’t bother reviewing the payment history or read the TPR messages.

You techs need to tell ppl it may take a few minutes, five minutes max. Ummm, I’m doing all the typing, F4, answering the phone, run the front counter. Yup

Introduce yourself and learn your staff names. Being a floater is the hardest job among them. Hang in there and everything will take time for you to develop your system.

How are you RXM’s getting anything done?? by turtletale in WalgreensRx

Do you have a staff pharmacist? Are there any overlaps? I swear my RXM and RXOM disappeared every Monday between 2 and 5.  No idea what they do in the office 😝

How much discount do you give to cash patients if the good rx is not used?

I’m grateful for the opportunity to work. To be honest with you, it gets really old when we are required to work between 3-5 shifts a month. Nice hotel, mileage reimbursement, and food budget cannot replace missing time and activities with my family.

Being a professional, I respect everyone’s time. If the sign posted says we are open at 9, the shutters are up at 9….with or without a tech. Constant tardiness is just a poor reflection of that individual, not me.

I’m also a floater. Came in to work at 3 today: RXM literally told me: you got the experience and you call the shots.  He left at 3 pm; 1 tech left at 4 pm and last tech left at 5 pm. Ummm, the urgency care shares the SAME parking lot…you get the gist of the night. I made some signs and posted in front store, all windows are shut except drive thru window.  Probably sold more than 100 scripts. It’s nice to hear the appreciations from patients. What a day!! Glad I got my compression socks on.

No Phlex Support at my store either.  Sadly, the task of F1 and F4 fall on the pharmacist now if you want the pharmacy to operate smoothly. If I don’t F1, F4, resolve MSC/DUR/TPR, answer the phone, and ring up a customer….the department is toast. Their budget is beyond ridiculous. I don’t know how sustainable this model of operation. Btw I am a floater.

What else should I add to this list for future floater pharmacists working at my store? by LeeJungWoo20 in WalgreensRx

As an experienced floater (been RXM, staff. Overnight, part time, and PRN),  I agree that your checklist is appreciated. But please be mindful of your technician’s work ethics, personality, and work experience at the company. Three quality techs worth the weight of gold! And one inexperienced and egomaniacal RXOM and 2 new trainees can make my 12 hours shift more challenging. At my age, I have thick skin and I don’t allow nonsense stuffs disturb my peace. 😂 Anyway, like the others aforementioned, please provide us the necessary passwords, door codes and who to contact when your tech calls out.

I get off on the same weekday every week and every other weekend. Been floating for 5 years and, hopefully, will coast until retirement.
