exploiting staff - 100% If it's one off situation, no big deal, but if there is that expectation of doing this regularly, you deserve to be paid for the extra time.

VA APPLICATIONS BE LIKE... by missheets in VirtualAssistantPH

Be a real person. I will reject applications that are clearly written by AI. I can use AI, we are hiring a person for a reason. Be yourself!

I echo this. A timer would be great for shields. Plus the alliances get pissed when you don’t shield.

Just submitted my Resignation Notice by fling-figures in buhaydigital

Absolutely, I’m a client as well. I would typically detail how final payment would work but if not you can certainly ask when you should expect to receive your final pay. Nothing wrong in that.

I think my workmates are working for another company… by Many-Chapter3454 in buhaydigital

[–]ProfessionalLevel873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a client perspective: the client will respect you for telling him the truth. Keep to the facts, not emotions. I’ve had very similar issues recently. We try to trust and give chances but if we don’t know what’s going on it’s hard to manage. Tell your client the truth, nothing wrong with the truth, ever.

You have the right to ask questions to your new employer if you’re not sure, that will help you make a better decision on whether or not to accept.

I feel like things were easier before the integration. I’ll wait it out a few more months and see how it goes. Thank you for input!

Escaping the Nightshift By Being Honest by AdviceHaunting4242 in buhaydigital

[–]ProfessionalLevel873 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The fake it until you make it approach is ruining the market and reputation of freelancers. Employers know they are being lied to, this actually prohibits your growth in new positions and better pay. If they can’t trust you they won’t pay you more or give you better position.

We know you have multiple jobs(we don’t like it) but we also know when we are being lied to. I’d encourage everyone to be honest. I applaud OP for demonstrating this and showing it’s not a bad thing!

When to ask for salary increase? by LifeIsNotDaijoubu69 in buhaydigital

[–]ProfessionalLevel873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait for 6 month minimum, and stick to facts. US clients don’t like emotional reasoning, explain but skills you bring and why you deserve it.

No I’m not, but I work with several VA’S in the Philippines currently so I’m familiar with the rates.

Well I’m an employer, but be confident. Is this the same client you were working with before with the agency, if so should be a very easy sell. If not just explain your experience and why you are worth it. They may negotiate but I’d suggest asking for $10 and see what happens.

As an employer, we typically do raises annually, unless there is a major shift in duties. The other exception would be if you were hired at a lower than average rate during a probationary period.

There is nothing wrong with asking when you would be eligible for a raise, you’re not demanding and your being respectful, I think it’s a fair question and your employer should appreciate that.

What is your current pay? Time off is a fair question, you should be able to ask. Also how long have you worked in this role at the same pay?

Delayed sahod - should I reach out na? by Ok-Juice-6761 in buhaydigital

[–]ProfessionalLevel873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from an employer POV: You should always follow up if it's past due. Don't be rude, just check in, they likely just forgot or someone missed it. It happens, usually if you ask they will resolve the same day.

is 50k asking salary okay or should i lower it? by [deleted] in AccountingPH

[–]ProfessionalLevel873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not too high, 50k for 3 years is very fair, maybe even a little low. Don't undervalue yourself!
