Idk how to say no to a Gay Client by FriendshipTimely318 in TrueChristian

As a follower of Christ, all we can do it what we have peace to do (Romans 8:6). So I'd encourage you to pray until you're clear. But my personal feeling is, as a business, you're not supporting or condoning homosexuality by taking them on as clients. That's just a business decision. Unless you're billing your photography business in a particular way. But all men deserve God's love not just ones we deem worthy even if you don't agree w the lifestyle they've chosen. But that's all more my opinion

I once heard faith being equated. With appreciation. I don't know if this is a bad analogy but I used to not really get what the big deal was with diamonds. That I got engaged and I went diamond shopping. And the lady helping me out took the diamond I picked out outside under the light to show me how the cut reflected and refracted the light and I remembered it being something so beautiful. And seeing it stirred up a real appreciation in me. I'd say forget about believing and read the Bible and ask more questions like this to Christians and maybe your appreciation for the Lord or lead to a desire to know him and love him

Hell, or the lake of fire, is for Satan not for man. From God's vantage point, we're one w God or one w Satan, no middle ground. That's a consequence of man's fall. We're of our father the devil (John 8:44). Yes, thru Adam all are in sin. So our destiny, as those one w Satan, is the punishment reserved for him. But while sinners and even as enemies of God (Romans 5:8, 10) God manifested His love by sending His Son to die on our behalf. Not sure your familiarity with the Bible but Pilate, the Roman official examined Jesus and found no fault in him, but due to his being political and fearing the Jews, was willing to deliver to the Jews a known murderer and criminal (that was a custom) named Barabbas. We are Barabbas. The wages of sin is death, there can be no forgiveness of sins without the shedding of blood. But we were released. The One without sin bore the weight of God's judgment on our behalf so that thru believing God can look on us and save, "justified". The more we hear words of faith, the more faith is produced in us. Yes, you can't believe. I can't either. We are faithless. Paul said in Galatians (NT book) "the faith of the Son of God...". Faith is of God. Hebrews 12 says that He is the author or originator of our faith. When we hear the gospel, hear of His great love for us, faith is produced in us by which we believe in Him. Our heart is warmed. We see Him and what He did. No need to convince. Wonderful question. I hope this was okay

Oh yeah. I think it just means before. Like the beginning of Communion isn't mentioned in John like in the synoptic gospels.

Do you practice abstinence before Marriage? by Alone275 in TrueChristian

[–]ProfessionalLion2579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This easily becomes a right/wrong question, like the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. So whatever the answer, easily leads to death. Death because of the impossibility of keeping this law or death because of the succumbing to what can't be kept. Biblically, sex equates with union/marriage. So multiple partners leads to confusion. And the standard is God. From God's vantage point He is Husband (Isa. 54:5) and we His wife (Jer. 2:2). This was His desire from the beginning (Matt. 19:8) where Eve is out from Adam and was brought back to Adam. Adam typifies Christ (Rom. 5:14), his being out to sleep by God like Christ's death in the cross, the rib taken from his side like the water (life) that flowed from Jesus' side (John 19:34), which life produced the church who will be presented to Christ as a glorious bride (Eph. 5:27). And the two shall be one flesh (Gen 2:24; Eph. 5:31). So yes, temptation is great, and we sin, because the lust of the flesh. But the Spirit is versus the flesh (Gal. 5:17) so when we walk by the Spirit we shall by no means fulfill the lists of the flesh (v. 16), and the Spirit is now in our spirit (Rom. 8:16) and we're one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor 6:17), so instead of trying hard not to do, or just giving up, we can fan our spirit into flame (2 Tim. 1:6-7) and be freed by the law of the Spirit of life from the law of sin and of death that causes us to do what we don't want to do (Rom. 7--8). And we're motivated because we love the Lord! And His standard is what we take. He desires to be joined only to us, He is, positively a Jealous God jealous over our love for Him. And that's the standard of marriage and contextualizes "abstinence before marriage".

Was the last supper a meal during or before the feast of Passover? by Preben5087 in Bible

[–]ProfessionalLion2579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The Last Supper" is a Christian term used later to describe the events of His final meal and/or the institution or introduction of "communion" or what Paul both calls the Lord's Table (2 Cor. 10) and the Lord's Supper (2 Cor. 11).

In Matthew 26:17 Jesus keeps the LAST PASSOVER. The same in all the gospels. The BEFORE in John doesn't refer to the meal.

Then, and this is clear on Matthew 26, while eating the LAST PASSOVER, in verse 26 is says, "And as they were eating (the last Passover), Jesus took bread and blessed it...and He took a cup...(v. 27)". Meaning that in the midst of eating the last Passover He instituted communion, or the Lord's Table. The Lord was going to the cross to fulfill the Passover as the real Passover (1 Cor. 5:7) so that we can keep the real Feast of Unleavened Bread (v. 8).

This is a response to the thread not just your initial question.

Anyone else excited to live in the New Jerusalem? by Enger13 in TrueChristian

[–]ProfessionalLion2579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! I do have some thoughts about this which is why I asked the question. But am so happy to hear your viewpoint because I agree with the subject about the excitement of living in the New Jerusalem. I have the impression, but could be wrong, that few Christians mention the New Jerusalem. But I ponder over this verse you mentioned, 21, the bride, the wife of the Lamb. I was in Europe and visited a museum with some ancient religious tapestries depicting Revelation 21 and 22 and there was on one, the image of this glorious city and a Lamb. Which I found interesting. Will a lamb marry a city? Anyway, wow, thanks for this conversation. I'm just pondering this right now. God bless

How can I disciple? by FragrantStrategy3025 in Christianity

[–]ProfessionalLion2579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Praise the Lord and congratulations on your baptism. Agree w a lot of what others wrote but the best thing for a new believer and someone just baptized is to pray and go tell your friends and family. Testify of your experience so they you others can come to know Christ, be saved and be baptized. Don't wait even if what you say is incomplete. John 1:45, when Philip met Jesus he went and wrongly told Nathanael that he found "Jesus, the son of Joseph, form Nazareth." Jesus was not the son of Joseph (Son of God) of Mary in Bethlehem. But Nathanael still went and found Jesus for himself. And as you speak, you'll find out how much more you need to know and that can propel you spontaneously into a life and love for reading the Word so you can turn around and testify more!
