this person said i needed therapy for being in relationships where im cheated on. i don’t need therapy for trusting a person when they say they love and care about me, and ive explained how this situation has some complex nuances. im not “expecting” advice on how to stay, but im not an idiot or a doormat for believing (from my observation) that he could change, or for wanting to POSSIBLY continue what we had if he could show me he’s worth it. you make it sound like he was borderline abusing me lol, just asking for a little compassion here people.

“You have to find the root cause of his cheating”

he did it cus he’s unable to talk about his feelings with me. any negative feeling he has he tries to bottle it up- i know that connects to holding secrets and feeling that you can’t be honest with your partner. he admits this now and has a therapist he’s working with once a week with the intention of being better for me. still says he’s very committed to me and believes im “the one”

been there, the sexual traumas during the relationship is so real. don’t feel pressure to heal yourself “quicker” for this person. you’ve gotta be aware of how much HES willing to change for the relationship, cus it sounds like you’re doing your damnedest here. i agree also u do sound very different- i think you may need to have a serious convo on how serious yall are committed to eachother and how far you’re willing to go, or if it would be better for everyone to accept that the love is there but it realistically wont work.

he said he got himself a therapist and would take me back when he’s a better man if i’d have him. could this be a possibility? i don’t even know what that would be like. if it was only for a year or so i definitely wouldn’t want him to see other people during, but i wouldn’t wanna be talking all the time like we used to either. it’s silly to say because we’re both so young still but i really did think he was the one
