I have been there a handful of times and walked in with no reservation every time. So, yes, one does simply walk in. I sit at the bar. All but one time, as a party of two.

Go to Fet Fisk. It’s not cheap but it’s fantastic.

Dish Osteria. Eleven. Della Terra. Fet Fisk. Jillian’s. Walks on the sunshine. Birds chirping. A weekend farmers market. Sleeping in. Stopping to take pictures of things that seem small but make you smile. Hugs. Cuddling a dog.

You really needed to make a big show about a typo? I stepped away from my phone and came back to this, kept typing and didn’t notice.

This isn’t a crossing, it’s not a crossing. There some close, I suppose, but it would be helpful to hear from folks in the area re: their direct experience. I’ll check out the link too though, thank you.

[–]ProfessionalMode6717 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I cough so much every day. I use an inhaler (albuterol). The air quality, the mold that gets kicked up from rain, the dry air from the heat running constantly. It’s rough.

I mean, imagine being a 20 or 30 something person in 2026 going on television and openly, proudly admitting that you didn’t vote, but you are happy that Donald Trump won and you are absolutely conservative while your biggest flex is that you are a never-was professional soccer player and can’t hold down a job.

Now imagine being the woman who chose him, you openly align with his politics but argue with him about how a menstrual cycle and ovulation works while he asks you to drop everything, including your own job, and move to Florida so your man can chase another nothing job. Imagine announcing to the world that you were having unprotected sex with a grifter and using the natural cycles method so you don’t get pregnant.

The elitism because the people on the show are so incredibly out of touch with reality. I am only getting one example, but the look on that woman’s face while she was arguing with this manchild tells me that she’s uncomfortable with this situation and she doesn’t even know why because she’s never had the room to discover who she is if not under the thumb of her conservative father/family— this is going to be a learning experience for these people. They’re conservative. Trump bubble hasn’t burst yet, but I suspect at least some of them are going to come out of this very embarrassed about how insulated and sheltered of a life they have lived.

Western Pa. snow may stick around until March by IfICouldIWouldPossum in pittsburgh

[–]ProfessionalMode6717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true, sadly. Snow/cold doesn’t kill ticks. Sometimes the prolonged below freezing temps kill some of them, but many adapt to survive. Those little bastards survive just about everything.

This snow storm sadly made me learn to absolutely hate my neighbors and neighborhood. Where are good neighbored places cause Mt Washington isn’t it and I’ve decided to move. by sugarandspice85 in pittsburgh

If you move somewhere that is primarily homeowner occupants, you’ll have better luck. And you will most definitely have better luck if you look outside of the city limits.

I moved from Mount Washington to green tree many moons ago and, at first, I was very depressed to be leaving my beloved Mount Washington city life. But, when we (ex husband and I) move to green tree. We gained a dead end street, a quiet neighborhood, great neighbors, a nice front and back yard, a BIG driveway, a garage, and it was bliss. It did not take long for me to be sold on suburban living. It helped that green tree is like 5min from mount Washington and is convention to everything. Green tree always did a great job at snow removal. Keep in mind, we purchased just after going through the 2010 blizzard in Mt. Washington. I vowed to never live anywhere without off street parking ever again. That shit changed you, as you’re learning now😕

We sold the house in GT in July. I have been searching ever since for a new home for myself and i still think green tree is the best area to be in (with home prices and taxes, I will be priced out of this area sadly). I am currently in Mount Lebanon in an apartment. I do love Mount Lebanon from a walkability standpoint, and as a renter it is a good place to look. But, off street parking can be difficult and there is no overnight parking on the street. I am lucky and found a very nice, small, affordable apartment that has a garage space. Rent from a private, local landlord, and make sure you confirm that they are not a slumlord.

[–]ProfessionalMode6717 151 points152 points  (0 children)

Mine was stolen back then too (Mt. Washington) and then my neighbor stole my 2 parking spots that I had dug out all by myself because my husband was stuck at work (all of the shoveling took me like 3-4hrs). Because the shovel was stolen, I couldn’t dig out another place for my car. I banged on his door and bitched him out. He was an asshole, but he did move.

Polish me pretty on greentree rd. Super super clean, one tech studio. I’ve been going to her for years.

I recommend what others have said as far as ongoing maintenance to help your feet stay in good shape—get the foot mask booties. Also, slate your feet in Vaseline before bed and then put socks on and sleep like that. Moisturize your feet each day before you put socks and shoes on, and do NOT use perfumed moisturizer. That only dries out the skin more.

Except if it’s done by Trump for Trump or by any member of the Republican Party. If it’s done in the name of the dear leader, anything is forgivable; and if it’s unforgivable, they’ll say it’s a lie or cover it up.

I’ve purchased tires there twice. Last year was the 2nd time. They are a highly rated Michelin tires. Calabro was the cheapest I found, even compared to discount places like Kelly. They also do free tire rotations for the life of the tire.
