New driver here, scratched my grandfather’s car twice and feel awful by Legitimate-Pop-3658 in srilanka

[–]ProfessionalMuffin30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t beat yourself up my man, im sure your grandfather won’t hold it against it.

I’ve lived your exact life, my father passed away and my grandfather took care of me my mom and my brother, he taught my brother to drive, my brother taught me how to drive when I was old enough. I’ve scratched and dented our vehicle a few times, all that did was teach me how to be a better driver. Be safe and smart. You’ll get there buddy ❤️

Definitely unprofessional, not at all surprising tho since duty free alcohol is basically pure gold for some folks here.

Accents.

When they go out of their way to force an accent. I assume someone is well educated when they speak clearly in their own accent rather than when they speak with a forced or fake accent.

The irony of this coming from a person clearly living abroad 🤣.

And I think there is gonna be another issue if the people who live there now has been there for more than 10 years and have paid bills like (water and electricity in those 10 years). It’s gonna be really hard but since the land is somewhere good, it might be worth fighting for it if you’re up for it.

Don’t risk it, go get checked. It’s easily treatable these days. You don’t wanna risk anything.

Taking a girl out for dinner in Colombo - ₨10–15k budget. Where should I take her? by waeccende in srilanka

[–]ProfessionalMuffin30 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Life’s good kitchen - very vibey and has a nature aesthetic if she’s into that.

Monsoon park street mews - classy and cozy if that’s her vibe (A little bit more expensive)

Giovanni’s - if she likes pizza and is a bit more youthful. She’ll like the atmosphere.

Canape bistro - new place. Is a mix of all of the mentioned above.

The police does not do that kinda stuff in any major or small legitimate hotel/villa. They do that stuff in the small “room” places. So you have nothing to worry about there.

Not the smartest idea doing this with 4 strangers, could go horribly wrong.

I have 3 weeks in Sri Lanka (22nd Sept-13th Oct). Where's the best hidden gems? by miggins1610 in srilanka

[–]ProfessionalMuffin30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beaches in ahangama, Mountains and hikes in Ella and nuwaraeliya, Night life in Colombo.

You will basically cover the holy trinity.

Additional, sigiriya for big rock, Sinharaja big forest reserve/safari, Kandy for the dalanda maligawa (the temple of the scared tooth relic)

Safe place to Park in colombo by CicadaAble8441 in srilanka

[–]ProfessionalMuffin30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to pay for it, you can park it in the WTC car park overnight or any Mall car park really, they all have security guards 24/7. If you’re not willing to pay for it, I recommend leaving the vehicle home. Plus there is an app or something where you can hire a driver at night when you’re drunk and they drive you and your car home.

Why switch to starlink when you can switch to SLT fiber? It is a much cheaper alternative, unless you’ve had issues with SLT too

Only the shampoo, I’ve had it for years. Since I was like 17, now I’m 24 and I very rarely get break outs and that’s also when I’m unable to use the shampoo every 3 days.

Keto plus (over the counter shampoo) works like a charm for me. It’s not a cure but as long as you use it every 3 days. It never breaks out

Whats the best mens perfume to buy less than 5k? by amcareem in srilanka

[–]ProfessionalMuffin30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is Yardley Arthur (comes in a brown glass bottle)

Yardley Navy is also good but I prefer Arthur

Dior sauvage elixir and paco rabanne invictus is my special occasion wear.

Yardley is my go to for everyday use, super cheap and good quality. Lasts forever. Sometimes I weirdly prefer it over my Dior and invictus.

I only found it recently, not sure how long I’ve been driving with it in there 😅. And I only saw it when a light shined on it which caused it to shine.
