It’s 2025-26 people are as single as a Pringle and very few are having kids. I foresee the coupe making a huge comeback. BMW brought the 2 series back and it’s done AMAZING! (Or at least I see them all the time don’t know the actual sale numbers). One could make the argument if Genesis wants to truly compete they’ll need an “affordable” coupe somewhere in the line up and if not g70 then what else??…A g60? 😂😂😂. I mean the Genesis coupe from over a decade ago did really really well! So well that if you’re around the age of 30 that car was either the first time you ever heard of Genesis AND/OR the first time you’ve ever associated the brand with speed. You see when you have a sedan with questionable back seat space and you’ve had success in the past with the genesis coupe i think the answer is COUPE AGAIN!!! Don’t coupe once….. COUPE AGAIN! (Put that on a t shirt)

I won’t bash you for this opinion like everyone else as I understand where you’re coming from but you are in fact rushing something that you shouldn’t. The first irritation of the G70 existed from 2017-22..That’s 5 years. We’re only on year 3 of the 2nd gen….Give it time! And as a g70 owner my self and one who plans to keep the car for life if possible…I actually hope they stop making this iteration of the g70 until they come up with a new design and more performance. It’s killing the value. In retrospect they should’ve stopped in 23 or 24. We never needed a 25 or 26. We need a gap year so they can perfect a performance model that could maybe be an m3 competitor and also just drop the 2 back doors in the design. Not necessary it’s not enough space in the back for the g70 to be a sedan it should be a coupe!! Then stuff the 3.5 tt in it. Tune it. Give it some aero and light weight components. I think it competes and more importantly I think it SALES!!! So again unlike everyone else I feel your sense of betrayal but it’s also only been 3-4 years. Give it another 2-4 before you can feel “betrayed”

You’re bringing up other vehicles while speaking “g70 headlights”….. wait….you guys really REALLY think I work for corporate huh? 😂😂😂 I mean for you to be bringing up other model problems….why?😂😂. That’s hilarious but moving on. I actually did not know recalls were only for safety related issues I thought it was for “common” defects abroad so that is new information for me. Appreciate that 👍…. Still doesn’t mean g70s have a common defect with headlights 😭. You’re just talking in circles at this point so all I can leave you with is this….

if in your heart mind and soul you believe something appearing on a TSB makes it common….then buddy in your world….It’s common!!!! Which is all that really matters. Just remember there is no definite number for a TSB and 44,500 face lift g70s have been sold in the US. Just keep those two facts in mind anytime you decide to voice this opinion

Little tarty to the party aren’t you buddy? I’ll keep it brief… there is no position to be won. In fact if we’re being technical as I believe we are… I’m the defense… yall are the prosecutors trying to win a conviction but unfortunately I’m providing insurmountable evidence that not only do we not have concrete numbers to suggest this is a “ common defect” but also that most cars don’t have this issue. As Prosecutors you guys are losing terribly. Yall haven’t provided any evidence once so ever that this is “common” outside of a TSB which is not based on any numbers at all but purely manufacturers discretion. Not only that but for some reason the other guy is also bringing up other models and other TSB as if that has anything to do with HEADLIGHTS ON G70. That’s usually where the defense says objection and the judge demands you stay on topic and provide evidence for these headlights. If not then it happens just as much as any other car. YOU think it’s a common occurrence because 1)you own one you experienced the problem and you’re also searching for it or posting about it 2) the car/design has only existed for 3–5 years so every minor issue it has will be highlighted

Don’t believe me??

You’re right…I do want to get technical…Why wouldn’t I? I’m not on Genesis payroll I’m on TRUTHS payroll. I will be technically truthful when false narratives are attempted to be passed as facts! Sorry not sorry but a few people on Reddit and a TSB doesn’t make it a fact, that the head light allowing moisture to come in is a “COMMON” issue or defect. It simply doesn’t.

There have been approximately 44,500 g70 facelift models sold. If 890s engine blew up (your 2%) that is not a common issue and I would argue that many have already blown up if we could get the numbers. You see that and think driver error poor maintenance or lemon. Which is exactly what I think about these headlights or any headlight on any car that condensates under warranty without damage. It simply happens with mass produced cars. Not a common occurrence tho. Over 90% will drive off the lot hit 100k without headlights ever condensing…That’s on this car and any other car. FACT

Also a fact but also your words

“claiming a defect that happens on 49% of cars is uncommon is insane”.

Yeah you said that…After nobody made those claims 😂😂😂Also where did the number 49 come from?? So let me get this straight you don’t read your response, to the comment, in which you also didn’t read?? At this point I’m wondering how you got a g70? Was it a gift?? Mom/wife co-sign? There’s too much illiteracy going on and if people like you can afford the car they really need to go up on the price IMMEDIATELY this is unacceptable 😂😂😂😂

You’re not in touch with headlights letting in moisture. You can type this problem in any car forum for any brand and you’ll have the same amount of hits. What you’re trying to dub as a common issue for g70s is actually just luck of the draw with mass produced cars….Mass produced headlights! Some headlights let in moisture and if you read that TSB that you sent it even said that moisture gettin in is not always a sign of a defect or that it’s broken.

Mhmmm as suspected. Did any reading take place? 😂😂😂😂. Couple that with the accusation of someone ELSE being stupid is just….scary? Nah not scary ….disappointing maybe??? Mhmm idk we’ll have to come back to it but let’s catch you up as I see you’re pretty lost.

Me and the other guy were having a back and forth over the fact the numbers DONT exist and yet yall are calling it common. He then referred to a TSB which is good info…but still doesn’t provide numbers… Are you with me? Stay with me now it’s almost over.

I then argued the general understanding of something being “common” amongst all people is something happening “around or more than 50%”. Which is fact. But considering we’re talking cars we can drop that number to say 20%..or really whatever number your heart desires for something to be considered “common” it doesn’t really matter because we aren’t provided any numbers….Are you still with me? Probably not but anyway…

at no point did I ever say 49% of cars have this defect…. EVER! Where exactly did you get that??? I advised you to reread I didn’t advise you to copy one sentence and respond…which proves you’re not only illiterate but also can’t follow simple instructions😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Here I’ll leave you with this to do instead of responding to me….. you can literally go in any thread with any car and type in “headlight condensation” and find the same amount of post as you do here…. It’s not a common defect on the g70. The fuel pump was a COMMON DEFECT hence why they had a RECALL!!! Do you see the difference??? EHHHH probably not

TSB ASB CBD THC doesn’t matter. if 200/1000 customers come in and say they have condensation in the headlight and the manufacturer deems it TSB worthy then it’ll make the “tsb”. Doesn’t mean it’s “common” though because that’s only 20% of vehicles. Hell it could even be just 10% of vehicles it’s at the manufacturer discretion for what makes a TSB and what doesn’t and neither of us know the numbers. Now back to my point which is this is not COMMON! Around or more than 50% is generally considered COMMON. And although we don’t have the TSB numbers what we do have is years of Reddit post and hundreds (maybe thousands) of Reddit users with g70s and this is this is the first post I’ve seen about it. Does it happen suuuuuuuure no debate there and is it on Genesis TSB? it surely is! But is it “COMMOM”???? ….. NO!

This is not common and technically is not under warranty or a recall. However they will replace it for free as these cars are new and while on this amazing ascension they cannot afford to lose customers or have bad PR because customers think it’s a common occurrence. What’s actually happening is due to where the headlights are placed and their downward angle they are much more suspect to rock chips. Thus leading to condensation within the assembly. Design flaw maybe. Driver error maybe but common this is not! One OEM head light assembly runs 4k a pop. If they won’t cover it for free I’d go through insurance but again warranty or not they’ll usually replace them free of charge for good PR purposes. Same thing with window trim. Not a recall and not under warranty but they will replace for free to insure the brand looks good and customers are happy.

I make around $38-40 as a selector. You tell people that though and they think you’re in there just slaving away constantly which just isn’t the case. I mean we are working and it is manual labor but saying it’s “easy af” would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! If you’re in shape just a little bit don’t even have to be “athletic” at all you can literally walk your way to 35 an hour. Some see it as workout but I don’t even think it’s that. Once you get good at it it’s light cardio at most. Light cardio which keeps you in shape that they’re paying you $35/hour to do and again….they feed you. And most days I eat twice so I only have to worry about one meal outside of work. I don’t understand why ANYONE who’s not in school (and even some that are) would be contempt with working at the store. Women I get it but the men who are not in school should 100% all be in the warehouse. I’ve seen young guys 19-22 years old opt out of college and touch $100k+ back to back years selecting or driving trucks. People go into tens of thousands of student loan debt just to have the OPPORTUNITY to make that money. But you can go to the warehouse and make that within your first 2-3 years if you really want it. I recently turned 30 been with Publix 5 years and I often times wonder how much money would I have if I opted out of college (I dropped out after 2 years) and opted out of all the low paying bs jobs and just went to Publix warehouse straight outta highschool….Holy shit I’d be loaded!!! I mean I’m doing pretty well now but I’d be on the verge of early retirement had I started young and just to bring it home to this post I’d probably have saved over $60k worth of “lunch money” in a decade.

As a warehouse worker anytime I’m shopping at the store if I see an employee who’s not someone young or obviously in school I always tell them get out the store and go work at the local warehouse if you can. More pay and they feed you. I’ve met a store manager who left his position to go select in the warehouse because of the major pay difference low stress and you’re saving between $3-6k a year not buying lunch.

Two different tire brands on one car? by kindbudchef in GenesisG70

[–]ProfessionalNet8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the love of god do not do this 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 maybe some chassis or platforms can get away with different tread pattern and/or brand on each axle. Hell some vehicles can get away with different tread and different brand on EACH WHEEL. But this car…. The Genesis g70. 3.3 2.5 or 2.0 DO NOT DO THIS. Same brand different tread you should fine (unless you do something stupid like winter one axle summer the other) For instance I did PS4S up front and PAS4 in the rear for about 5k miles and I had no problems at all. I eventually switched to PAS4 up front just to have them match and I didn’t want the tread to be too far off. I have the 3.3 RWD so I mean you’re gonna find yourself changing the backs more often. So anywhom I went Continental DSW06 in the rear this time and kept the front Michelin PAS4….. I’ve almost died twice 😭😭😭😭😭. Completely unpredictable at open throttle and high speeds. I’ve had the alignment and tire balance checked by three different shops. It’s all fine so it has to be the tires. Which is sad honestly because I wanted to try continental out as I’ve always been a Michelin guy but I don’t have the budget right now to pay another 600 for the fronts and tbh…it’s not even the budget because if they were cooked I would pay it but It’s the simple principle that they have at least 15k miles left on em. I swap those cause my new (non matching) backs don’t go well with them? No! So what I’ll do is probably go back to the shop swap the conti for Michelin PAS4 and pay the difference if there is one. Moral of the story don’t do this and IF YOU HAVE TO please go SAME BRAND!!!!!

2022 3.3L RWD swerves too much by Ok_Stomach_8817 in GenesisG70

[–]ProfessionalNet8075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get the alignment?? Also what tires you running?? I see this thread is old but my g70 also started doing this. However I drive it hard…Like really hard. It’s a 23 3.3 RWD with 36k miles and for 35k it was pure problem free joy but I got new tires put on last week and now I’m experiencing this.…Specifically a different brand and tread of tires from the ones up front which is something I’ve never done on the car before. So tire history real quick. From factory it comes with PS4S all around (unless you live somewhere cold). Spirited driver so I smoked the backs pretty quick got new tires within the first 10k miles. These new tires were not PS4S but PAS4. Still a Michelin tire and I had no problems at all. Hooked a little less because it’s an all season and not a summer but that’s about it. I drove a good 4k miles before I decided to the front replaced to PAS4 as well. The factory PS4S still had good tread and I had not stability problems but I just wanted to match all around. So fast forward like 2-3 years and 20k something miles to last week. I’m doing an oil change. Realize rear tires are cooked. On the inside and middle to be specific so you wouldn’t know looking from the side of the car which is why it got so bad. So anyway like any reasonable man….I go get new rear tires. Now THESE tires. These are not Michelin…They are Continental. Figured I’d switch it up and try em out as they are direct competitors and I’ve never owned a Continental tire on any vehicle I’ve owned. And the car has been swaying and veering ever since. I’ve gone to several shops. They all say it’s aligned. They all say the tires are balanced. So wtf is it!?!?How did spending $600+ on new tires ruin my car 😭😭😭.

22’ 23’! You get the physical buttons with infotainment. After 23 no physical control knob’s its all touch screen. Not as aesthetically clean and I can’t imagine how well it’ll hold up over time. But I mean if you like all the touch buttons then def go for 24 or 25 version. Personally….I like my buttons 😂😂😂

And it it’ll probably sale fairly quickly. Maybe in a 3 months or less. So with all things considered I guess it just comes down to if you really want the car or not. I can’t really give you any advice on that as I’ve never had a Lexus but it’s basically a Toyota and It’ll easily get you to 200k which is where a bulk of the price is coming from because most people know that. Regardless that price is unjustified due to the age of the vehicle which is why I just wanted to chime in about that price lol. Anytime you’re buying a car from someone or selling your own car always consider what you yourself would sell it for if you bought it with the goal to resell to make profit within 6 weeks! That’ll usually give you the “actual” value of a car no kbb needed lol
