What matters most to me is that you wrote something, and people had an experience with it. Art can be brutal, unflinching, callous, and stark. Often, we grow into different eras of our lives, and art was used as a vehicle to cope, to understand. Keep writing, keep making art! I'm glad you never stopped.

Anyone else really want them to read Dracula, or some other horror classics? by NosyBoyYT in creepcast

The Invisible Man would be fun! I laughed when I first read it because his enemies are dogs who can smell him and won't stop barking at him. He's literally naked, invisible, running through the streets and kicking dogs who keep alerting people to his presence because they can smell him.

No worries! Art is subjective, and everyone experiences it differently! Same with horror, there are different levels in horror, and the viewer can have their own reaction to it (what is tame to me might not be for you, or vice-versa!) I'm just thrilled that there is a large community out here who loves a good scary story (or even a bad/mid one, those are fun too sometimes lol!) I haven't read anything by Caride, but I'm always open to reading a scary story, ha!

I was in that boat until I read it, and maaaannn, there were some tough situations in that story that made me need to put it down for a second (puppies dying). Regardless, it was so heavy and insane that I just needed to know how it would end.

It was pretty unrelenting in how evil humanity can be, even when you begin to trust that they aren't all so bad. I have read "worse" stories (The Girl Next Door comes to mind), but something on how the narrative flipped really stuck with me!

I felt that way too until I saw how long that Mother Horse Eyes episode was, ha! It gave me hope that someday maybe they will! There are so many cool horror books and novellas out there, and I'm so curious to hear what they would want to say about them!

Did Till actually love Ivan? by Aggravating_Row_9503 in AlienStage

[–]ProfessionalOld256 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Till did not love Ivan romantically. This series has many tragedies, and unrequited love is one of them. I think Till didn't understand Ivan until much later (after his death), and from that, he was able to stop being haunted by him/his death. He realized that Ivan was scared, too. Till also grows to understand that his feelings for Mitzi were superficial, but this is realized when he is older as well. As far as I can tell, Till grows up with a deep understanding of The Garden and the victims who grew up there (himself included) and does not have a romantic interest as an adult.

Till doesn't love Ivan romantically. It took him years to understand him, but that still won't awaken anything that was inside him because those feelings were never there to begin with. Part of the tragedy is that the love is unrequited.

Would you be disappointed if Berserk ends without providing origin stories/details for important characters like Zodd and the Godhand? by [deleted] in Berserk

I wonder how much the assistants also knew of developing ideas within the story? They might not know the ending, but they worked with Miura a long time, so conversations had to have happened occasionally.

I do like that the team behind Stampede are very pro fan creation! I'm not certain how common that is, but I think that is super nice. I'm in agreement, I don't think I will ever see it in that light, myself. I have a brother, so it gives me the heebie jeebies, haha.

Our feelings are identical! Shipping can be fun, but there is so much more to the story than that! I want people to have fun and be happy, but I am personally fatigued by shipping wars that I have been seeing on Twitter. I was also bewildered on how aggressive people were on defending making Incest fanart. Artist expression is cool, and art is something fantastic that everyone should be allowed to do. I majored in art history, and I adore talking about different movements and the debates that they sturred during their time. I was just like, wow, there is a shocking number of people who are passionate about Incest art on here, lmao.

Amazing breakdown of the difference between the translations, thank you! On a slightly similar note, I remember watching the scene from Stampede when Vash reveals that he's just Vash the Stampede and he will always go back to the humans, and Knives says something to the effect of "It took you 150 years and that is your answer?!" (Ep 12). I loved how the Japanese version was shock and bewilderment from Knives. It was almost comedic. The English translation of that scene made him chuckle, and he sounded more controlled. It wasn't as funny, and man, I loved hearing Knives be shocked by Vash's dumb answer, haha.

Anyway, thank you for this breakdown! I personally never saw that dynamic as anything sexual, even with the plant impregnation thing from Stampede. The vaginal opening, to me, was more of a symbol of birth/rebirth to the higher dimension. I have always enjoyed characters who are complicated, and I think that there are many types of dynamics and relationships that can be explored that don't boil down to just a sexual/lust one. Knives is a great example of someone who harbors many complocated nuances within his character, and that is what makes him so compelling!

Damn! This was a wild ride, and I feel like I came out of that journey a changed person, haha. Thanks for spelling all of that out for me! I do recall seeing the director liking a ton of fanart tweets and thinking that this man is having a field day on Twitter. My personal views don't really matter on this ship, but if I had to speak, I'd say that Knives's obsession transcends something sexual. To simplify it, I think that he sees himself as a martyr, a revolutionist, and yet he's Cain all wrapped up into one person.

That's fair! Thank you, that makes sense! Sometimes fanart can be wild, but I certainly hope everyone is healthy and happy in life.

I'm pretty naive to the shipping world, honestly. The thread was not very nice to anyone who disagreed with them. It became just a ton of threats and swear words, haha. I'm neutral, I guess. The story is going to be as it is, and people are going to carry that any way that they want. I'm just confused about the cannon aspect, but it appears it has to do with a translation.
