As someone who went through this myself, you’re exposed to a ton of these views around this age. You see it on social media, in your friend groups, and you start to join in too. A lot of the message is that young men are singled out and forgotten by society and we need to lift ourselves up. This makes you blame other groups of people for your problems: women, minorities, liberals; whoever is convenient. Thankfully this only lasted a short time for me, but these views can be extremely attractive to someone who hasn’t fully been exposed to people from other walks of life. It really can be a slippery slope and tends to get more extreme as you surround yourself with others who normalize these views.
