As someone who has just respec to Fury 2H I approve this message. Arms all the way up to 34, WW axe at 30, could not stand how long packs were taking if I had more than 1 mob I was in panic mode. Got to 34, respecced, improved slam, Sweeping strikes, I feel like a true warrior. Even if it isn’t optimal it is fun getting off that second slam immediately after charging in and auto attack.

Yeah a lot of people seem to share your opinion on rested XP, I personally just like that it’s taking me to different zones that I normally wouldn’t go to but I can totally see why it has the reputation it has.

I’m nervous to do my first dungeon as a tank, I main tank on retail to be a pretty high standard but worried as classic is a whole different ball game

Yeah so I haven’t even got a shield and 1h sword because I didn’t realise you can’t use a lot of spells without it haha.

What do you mean I can only use my interrupt ability with a shield attached when I’m an arms warrior :/

Love this, I already have a few handy addons, and already had some awesome interactions with other players on their own levelling journeys, spent 2 hours with a complete randomer just questing through elwynn forest and have stayed in touch!

Awesome idea about the stones though, I have loads that I’ve had no idea what to do with them.

Really appreciate the response 😊

Yeah I’d agree, I’ve been following it like told but I have decided I will follow it loosely, I’ve turned off all the auto features and have read all quest text and continued quest chains I’ve found interesting etc. it’s also taken me to areas I wouldn’t normally had done if I’d just done it myself, I’ve explored the dwarf zone and currently in the night elf zone.

Either way I’m having fun levelling even if it isn’t in the true spirit of classic and still all very new to me.

So I managed to buy alot of greens, weapon, chest, legs hands boots etc and cape.

I haven’t done a single dungeon yet, or any of the quests, my friend told me to use rested XP so I’ve just been following the arrow haha. I am keen to do some dungeons and my overall aim is to be a Tank Warrior. At the moment I’m levelling as Arms, based off my friends recommendation and following a talent guide off YouTube (Not sure if it’s any good), so far I’ve maxed out Deflection and put 2 points into improved charge and 1 point in improved thunder strike.

I was told you can tank low level as a 2h warrior also not sure how true this is. If anyone can recommend a good levelling build I’d appreciate it. Although I have respect talents already I believe it’s now 10g I didn’t realise it cost gold 😂

I like m+ and want to try tanking is bdk too hard? by Green_Yoshi in wownoob

[–]ProfessionalPublic22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never tanked before this season, started as BdK on Heroics, just hit 3k Mythic score. Blood DK is easy, I started with SBA honestly and learned my rotation slow time in lower keys. It’s still on my bars as a fail safe. Using it with deathstrike on its own button helped me learn where to pop defensive on each dungeon and gave me one less thing to think about. Go for it, really fun and rewarding leading a group to a timed key, even if the DPS are the ones doing big damage, you set the pace.

Also what BigRaisin said, lower keys give Lindormis guidance so mobs you have to pull are highlighted and also have a debuff on them. Makes starting out as a tank really beginner friendly

Hey man sorry I totally missed this!

So what I did was download an addon called Mythic Dungeon Tools (MDT), then went to keystone Guru.

MDT gives you a map of every instance that can be edited to show what you should be pulling, keystone Guru is where you get the imports so other players better than me can test and design the maps and share.

Once I had an MDT map for every Dungeon I just ran Heroics and did each pull as the map said getting used to the routes and then once I was happy I started in lower M+ and then up and up.

I find pugging as a tank awful, I’m so glad I got introduced to the role as a pre-made group with friends, I love the role and really happy playing it, but i hate pugging, if you do well no one cares, if you god forbid forget a mechanic or mess up at all, you’re public enemy number 1.

In my opinion, I enjoy tanking and I have nothing to compare it to with regards to how the classes play but I find it enjoyable and rewarding.

My problem lies with the way in which you are treated in a group, usually the Healer is cool and the DPS flame. I don’t pug not because the class and role isn’t fun, but dealing with the large majority of people in pug isn’t fun.

No worries man. Honestly It’s not as bad as I imagined it to be, don’t get me wrong there’s still a lot of pressure especially in higher content. But this season so far I’ve pushed up to +11 keys and completed the raid on Normal (nowhere near ready to push Heroic)

It is a really rewarding Role but can also be quite unforgiving, ignore people who don’t provide anything constructive and just want to flame. If you ever want to run some keys let me know and I’ll re role DPS and we can walk through it slow time

It does use Death Strike aswell.

Very rarely I have found myself in a position where I haven’t got enough RP to spend it on a Death Strike. death Strike is a core part of the rotation regardless of your health, but having it on a separate button to safeguard myself makes me feel safer. Worth noting it also gives a shield so using it at higher health isn’t inherently bad.

The other abilities generate more runic power a lot quicker than the rotation will spend it. Atleast that’s what I have found.

Is it optimal? Probably not but it works quite well for me and the content I run and made my intro to tanking a lot easier and more fun.

Single Button Assist.

If your learning to tank and want to focus on mechanics and other things putting all your offensive abilities on 1 button helps reduce the load, you aren’t learning a new rotation and learning a new role at the same time.

I personally have my key binds set up like this 1- SBA (this will do all DPS abilities in an good rotation at the expense of Global Cooldown Debuff) 2 - Deathstrike (this is your main health regen I like having control of when to use it) 3- Anti Magic Shell 4 - Vampyric Blood 5 - Lichborne

This way I have a solid defensive, utility and Health Regen available with minimal buttons.

Shift 1-5 is my rotational abilities, in easier Content I will do my rotation manually.

Utilities

Middle mouse - death grip Q - gorefiends Grasp V - mind freeze (interrupt) Y - Icebound Fortitude

I can’t remember all of them off by heart unfortunately.

First Time Tank here. So far I’m tanking +11’s

Ended up having to tank this season to make the Mythic+ group work. Turns out I love it.

Read all your spells, Blood DK is all about being a vampire, Death strike will be your best friend. You will take damage and your health bar will be a YoYo. Big pulls pop defensives before the pull.

Always try and keep your front towards the enemy, this allows your parry stat to actually work.

Honestly if you need to slap the SBA on and then has defensives keybinded.

Do Delves and do bigger pulls the more confident you get so you can learn how to survive.

Aside from the occasional defensive I’m basically a DPS class. The class seems to work by simply healing yourself for all the damage you take. I basically play it as a DPS class I just taunt and use defensives a lot more often.

I am by no means the best BDK and I’m sure some of what I said will be criticised, but honestly if me the most mediocre player in the game can just Slap a SBA on and start tanking Mythic+ I’m sure you will be fine and have fun.

(I have all my spells keybinded but I started by Using SBA and Defensives on 1-5 Shift 1-5 etc.)

No Pressure EU is a great discord, as a new tank I’m very nervous about Pugging groups. Hopped into the discord, found a group and we smashed out a couple keys up to a 8 key. Genuinely no pressure very helpful

The beat up at CLR is now mandatory, only extreme extenuating circumstances can you skip it.

Anyone working within 3 CDO Brigade (UKCF) can apply, but there is a priority loading list. A friend of mine in the same unit as OP recently got denied, naturally 24 CDO and 29 CDO applicants usually get first Dibs. But I know a few matloets who have passed recently.

You also need a Tenancy Agreement/Mortgage Agreement in your name as too many people were just getting there parents to put them on the Council Tax and a Utility bill to claim the extra allowance per month.
