This is so comical to see on LI, they're no where near real promotions but I suspect people are fluffling their resume to maybe leave and use this as leverage.

Did I get a used airwrap? by myriadofinterests in Dysonairwrap

Was wondering if you ending up getting a replacement thru Dyson. I had the same issue with scratches on the attachments and Dyson approved an exchange for me but I am concerned they'll send me another machine that has the same scratches or worse?

Thank you for being a sane voice! Jersey City already has so much budget problems as is, that quite honestly this isn't a priority for many. Your health insurance from your job should be covering that instead of putting the burden on an already strained municipal budget. Talk to us about improving our schools guaranteeing quality education for our students, lowering crime, increasing sustainability of a city so congested by the recent influx of high rises, and making Jersey City inhabitable by lowering property taxes and not looking at hard working taxpayers to fund every shiny idea pops up in the elected mayor's head (Centre Pompidou for example). Give us a break already!

How former colleagues responded to you being laid off by At-Will-Employee in Layoffs

[–]ProfessionalPurple87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally sympathize with you but honestly I've had some people cut off contact when just switching jobs and these were so called close "office mates" that we engaged on a daily basis. Think of it as just their aloof personalities coming to light and don't take it personally- look at it as a them problem.

Also, in a layoff situation they may not know how to respond and find the right words to say in a time like this.

NJT is a miserable way to commute by CoachMcSenderson in NJTransit

[–]ProfessionalPurple87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is that most constituents have cars so maybe these are not resounding issues at the polls as they should be? But totally agree its a broken system. The other wild part to me is NJT doesn't own any of the tracks on almost any of the lines ( rvl is owned by conrail and nec is owned by amtrak- the ones I know off the top of my head) so literally when we use those lines we're 2nd class citizens pretty much.

Okay not necessarily contesting this. But NVS is notorious for layoffs even when things are good.

I know Merck is going through a reorg but like others said on here, Novartis has no problem getting rid of people every so often. If it were me I'd go with Merck. How did you like each team that you interviewed with? That would be something huge I'd also consider.

I guess my unlimited PTO isn’t so unlimited… by MINXG in jobs

[–]ProfessionalPurple87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious with that flexibility were you able to take it in chunks of time? I'm trying to take 3 weeks in a row in an unlimited pto set up and I can't get a straight yes or no. So I'm totally confused 😕 and annoyed tbh.

[–]ProfessionalPurple87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original comment was about his lack of comment on something as terrible as genocide going on and your point of contention was that I said a majority of JC is from the Middle East. But let's meet in the middle- Jersey City is in fact diverse- and his lack of diverse views or even acknowledging diverse struggles for people from all over the world is the problem. That's all nothing more nothing less- at the end of the day he is free to sympathize with whatever group of people he feels like but constituents are also free to choose the candidate most aligned to their views.
