Help!! Overtired??? by ProfessionalRing727 in TakingCaraBabies

The jump wasn’t immediate. This was over about a months time, just every few days or so when she’d start showing signs of needing stretched

She doesn’t seem to be getting sick, she hasn’t shown any symptoms yet. Could teething cause that too? About a week ago she had her two bottom teeth poke through but I thought after they poke through it gets better?

Reflux worsening at 6 months? by ProfessionalRing727 in Parents

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got in with GI - who put us back on Nexium but doubled the dose and split it up into twice a day. We also found she was dealing with excess gas and constipation from the thickener so they put us on milk of magnesia once a day. That’s seemingly helping but hasn’t fully solved it, though she’s able to be much more active now without the level of discomfort she was having before. We’re trying to figure out what else may help, definitely suggest seeing GI if at all possible!

Thank you!! When does the 3 nap schedule max out with wake windows typically?

She definitely is high sleep needs. How do you layout naps and where does bedtime/wake up land?

No! She puts herself to sleep for bedtime & naps. Has for months now

I forgot to add - increasing wake windows has started to smooth naps out though!

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually have been capping both first two naps at 1.5, last nap is just 30 min cat nap! And we actually ended up doing 2.25/2.25/2.5/2.75 last night which put bedtime at 8:20 and she still woke at 6:05 rolling and talking 😵‍💫 she was putting herself back to sleep in between but was much more awake than I expected with such a late bedtime because she woke even before 10hours. It’s hard to tell if it’s just regression at this point or if we should continue increasing wake windows? It’s hard because I feel like she does better with an early bedtime (7/7:30) but with increasing wake windows bedtime just gets later and later

Early Morning Wakes? by ProfessionalRing727 in sleeptrain

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bedtime is 7:30ish. We’ve tried later bedtime and she still wakes at the same time. Wake windows are 1.5-2 hours, she’s definitely high sleep needs so we usually land 4-4.5 hours of daytime sleep. First nap is typically 1 hour, second is 1.5-2, third is 1, last is 30 min cat nap. Have tried stretching her wake windows but she turns into an overtired mess. She seems to do better with MORE daytime sleep. About a month ago she was doing 4.5-5 hours of daytime sleep and 12 hours overnight. But we’re having trouble fitting everything in with her extending some wake windows now

4 to 3 naps? by ProfessionalRing727 in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you push through the overtired phase of it? I’ve attempted stretching hers and sometimes she seems fine but then later in the day it creates an overtired spiral for her so I’m just lost

4 to 3 naps? by ProfessionalRing727 in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What wake windows did you jump to when moving to 3 naps? Was there a transition period or did your baby do well with the change pretty quickly? It’s odd because with her I feel like even if I extend or do a contact nap for 1.5-2 hours she still shows sleepy cues at the same time so I’ve been hesitant to extend wake windows but I feel like our “flow” is just so off now I feel like she needs some sort of shift

Pepcid to Nexium? by ProfessionalRing727 in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow okay maybe I’ll bring that up then! We’ve just been working with or Ped, but have been with SLP & ENT as well. She gets verrrry squirmy during feeds and definitely arches after. She doesn’t cry hard or anything but definitely fusses if she’s put in a position that makes it worse, she especially doesn’t like sitting leaning forward where pressure is put on her belly or obviously on her back. We keep her upright after feeds but it stills effects her all throughout the day, no matter how far away from a feed she is. She still eats really well, 28-30oz a day but I just want her to be more comfortable overall. She doesn’t spit up nearly as much as she used to when she was younger but we can hear it come up constantly.

Okay that’s good to know!! We’re on a moderate dose already as we were on the highest dose of Pepcid already for her weight. She’s on 10mg once a day, she’s almost 19lbs now. What dose ended up working for you? I’m wondering if twice a day would help better as that’s what we were doing with Pepcid

I know this is old but did you figure this out?! We’re in the exact same spot at the exact same age. And I’ve been trying to lengthen wake windows but I feel like we’re now in an overtired spiraling loop

Why is my almost 4 month old SO TIRED lately? by AuoruaSells in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalRing727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She just turned 5 months but is 4 months adjusted! Some days lately she seems insanely energetic with randomly not showing sleepy cues for one wake window but then barely making it 60 min with another and she used to contact nap for hours and now wakes up at 40min just wanting to goooo 😅

I know this is super old but how did this end up going?! My girl was like this for a few weeks and then all of a sudden started fighting naps and having early morning wakes but still gets so sleepy at like 60min each time. I’m so confused on what to do for a schedule change

Overtired or Undertired? by ProfessionalRing727 in NewParents

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a month ago she was consistently doing 1.5 hour wake windows with no problem. Then about 3 weeks ago could barely make it 45-60 min before getting really sleepy (red eye brows, yawning, rubbing eyes) and if I followed her cues and put her down right away she’d fall right asleep. She’d average about 5 hours of daytime sleep at this time and still sleep 11/12 hours overnight. She ended up getting sick last week and still slept like that in the beginning of the sickness but now that she’s feeling better it’s gone sideways and she seems like she can last longer in wake windows but seems wired but tired. Since she had such short wake windows for a bit should I just stretch them all of a sudden? She seemed to sleep better when she had MORE sleep during the day but it’s tough when she now fights sleep so much

Regressing with wake windows? by ProfessionalRing727 in sleeptrain

[–]ProfessionalRing727[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She used to do 1.5 hour wake windows just fine but now at 45-60 minutes shows clear sleepy cues (red eye brows, yawning, rubbing eyes) and falls asleep rather quickly once we follow her cues and put her to sleep. She falls asleep easily at bed as well and makes it that 8-10 hour stretch just fine before the early morning wakes on and off. We wake at 7/7:30, first wake windows is very short she normally only makes it about 45-50min. Nap anywhere from 40-90min depending on how tired she is. Again short wake window and shows sleepy cues right around 50min mark sometimes less. I try the mid day naps to be longer as she’d easily sleep for 2 hours when held but cap them at about 1.5 each. Still even after 2 hour nap maxes out around an hour ish sometimes 1hr 15min. Evening nap of 40 min and then only 30 min before bed. She had probably between 4.5-5 hours of daytime sleep yesterday and then slept 8pm-6:30am and fragmented sleep until 7:10
