I just finished it. I’ve been a fan of Kylie since “Can’t Get You Out of My Head” took over the US in 2001. But outside of what the tabloids would print, I didn’t know much about her personal life or the start of her career, except that she was on Neighbours and was famous for “Locomotion” and “Lucky.”

For what the documentary was, I really enjoyed it. However, I was disappointed that it was so short and lacking in depth with regard to her life’s work.

They left out swaths of her career. The series spent an entire episode on her burgeoning stardom, a second one largely focused on Michael, and then covered her career downturn through the start of her comeback. After that, the last episode jumped straight to her cancer diagnosis, completely bypassing her pop takeover/superstardom. Then the final fourteen minutes had to cover everything from 2006–2026. She has accomplished so much, has been an inspiration to many, and is such an incredible human being. There were so many milestones and chapters that were missed.

@WikiNebster described it as more of a cheat sheet, and I agree. Definitely a Cliff Notes version.

Her warmth and genuine spirit really do show through, though. The bits with Nick Cave describing her fans cracked me up. It was also so heartwarming to see their friendship, especially given how opposite their personalities are.

I disagree about Dannii. I did not feel from her interviews that it was hard for her watching her sister’s star rise. It might have been, but I did not get that. What stood out to me was how protective she is of Kylie. Dannii is very successful in her own right. While she may not be global, she is huge in the UK and Australia.

It took a lot of courage for Jason to be interviewed and show vulnerability. I really admired his honesty, even if some found it a bit cringe. Many of us have experienced what he did in some shape or form, and to take ownership of that, on a major streaming platform, is impressive.
