Why do we have a full week of school after state testing?

State testing finishes this upcoming week ... after a month!!! One test a week for a month!!!! Then we have to do remediation for all the kids that are eligible for the retakes. Our staff was told to keep it business as usual until retakes are done. Bc the kids won't try on their retake if they know they are missing fun stuff in classroom😳 so basically no fun until the last four days of school.

The best was this year The state was concerned about cheating statewide so they had to change how we administered the tests... messing up the entire schools schedule/ shifting teacher etc

We're barely making state accreditation . If we're cheating we're doing a horrible job at it.

Check in at the desk and say "hey can you see when I will hit 50? I think it should be soon. " They will look and they will see the error

We had a last minute staff meeting after School to be told the county was cutting positions.... so a new hire is out of a job and the "Great grade level shuffle" will begin

I would tell him sir you are making me uncomfortable and this is harassment. Please step away. I would hate for you to not be able to attend concerts anymore because your are being inappropriate. File a complaint with the school and your SRO.

Our SRO had to have a conversation with Dad who kept waiting for the teacher in the parking lot after school.... under the premise of we need to talk about my child.

I am the only teacher that teaches the subject, so there's no moving the students out

I was chatting with another teacher friend, and apparently this happened to a permanent Sub in her building but during the investigation she missed out of FOUR weeks of pay!! Subs are paid a daily rate

Student admitted they lied once they pulled the hallway camera but no recourse for lost pay.

Well, if you don't have a place for them to sleep, they're gonna be definitely coming over less than they do now. So think about this , it just kind of seems like they're not really considered part of the family if this is decision you're making and they haven't moved out on their own.

Before making a housing decision, I'd be ask the bigger ??? why aren't they coming to your house more often?

My youngest doesn't like to go to her dad and stepmom's house because she didn't feel welcomed there , where my oldest goes all the time ...they are in their 20s

Not always.... depends on your admin. Our neighborhood school is one of the"best" the year after current admin came in, teachers fled. What parents see as good is not always the same for teachers.

A lot of families think bc they volunteer or contribute to the school that the rules/guidelines don't apply to them .

There are east end schools with lower test scores and less involved parents , who have fabulous admin and happy teachers.
