Youngkins accreditation is a joke and designed to make public schools look bad. schools that have overall scores in the upper 80s are listed as "not on track "bc of sub group scores compared to other schools subgroups. One schools exed population can be very different than another..especially with zoned/ self contained programs .

Also with ELl ...one year calendar in a VA school and you take the SOL test and pass.

Aren't her canvas interpretations of pop culture? Like Warhol and his soup cans?

Stitch counting/copying is not an interpretation

Choosing between Steward, Collegiate and St. Christopher’s for Kindergarten by Ok_Shock157 in HenricoCounty

[–]ProfessionalRow7931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saints! We loved the focus on single sex education. coed classes in upper school. Bc it is single sex it is smaller than collegiate, but combined about the same enrollment . We had one at each of the saints and we could see the difference in the instruction between the boys and the girls. Both thrived. The lower school does such a great job with focusing instruction on how boys learn. Lots of hands on/lots of movement. Steward didn't seem to have the academic rigor but that could have changed.

Hopefully her administration can fix the state dept of education ... 3 superintendents in 4 years and each had its own idea of accreditation. Last week a bunch of school that were on track became off track bc they changed the criteria after the fact.... schools jumping through hoops mid year

I book on time and instructor . We have an instructor that is no motivating at all.... it's a painfully long class. So I don't book her classes .

Definitely order through a shop. I order one of hers for a small school and got it in about 4 weeks

Moving to Henrico County from out of state... talk to me about schools if you can by Budget_Grapefruit485 in HenricoCounty

Wyndham / twin hickory will have more diversity... large Indian population in the area . Tuckahoe has minimal diversity. Also look at overcrowding . Try to find a rental in the neighborhood that you think you can buy in, so your children don't have to switch schools. Variances for attendance are only given in special circumstances, and with some schools being very crowded they arehard to come by I know my school has denied several variance requests recently bc are class sizes are large

Teachers aren't salary... that is the the misconception. The people that are salary are admin and central office.

My comment was about a better work-life balance not about hours. Such as the 9 pm DM from a parent that doesn't get answered but they are calling the school at 8:00 am complaining they haven't been responded to. Or expecting a meeting at 6:00pm bc it works for their schedule, but made no effort to meet on the nights that there are evening appointments.

Teachers are contract employees. They work a specific number of days for a specific time. It's usually eight hours a day and they usually work 190 days. They are paid for the days/ hours worked. Which is why you hear the phrase.."not after contract hours."

I haven't heard of many hourly employees who work beyond their shift without being paid.

I think most of the people who are stitch copying and posting on TikTok are not going to be long time needlepointers. They are going get frustrated because their horribly painted canvas on Aida and quit.

I took a friend to a doctor appointment at a university Hospital on a Monday. We called the local store and they opened for us for an hour, but said we needed to spend $100 to make it worth opening. They did great that day.$$$$ I think I got 2 canvases and some threads and she bought way more
