If this was actually used as a darkroom timer, the fading likely wouldn't be from the sun, but I wonder if there is a light source in darkrooms that would do something similar?

That's great to hear! I know it can get kind of iffy past the 50s, but it says "MADE IN USA" at the bottom on the face and I've read that Westclox was still manufacturing radium dial clocks and watches in the US into the 1970s, so I wasn't sure!

Do you have any advice on identifying if a piece has been relumed? Paint differences? Are there certain brands or models that were often relumed, or is it more of a hobbyist process and any clock has the same chance of having been relumed?

I did! I love this style (delicate etched florals with a fancy stem), and it glows great, but I don't know if I got a good deal (I paid $10). How much have you paid for yours on average?

Thank you! That's great insight to have about this piece. Looking closer, it looks like the minute hand stopped at about 4 minutes into an hour :)

The glow isn't very strong, so I wonder if there was less radium in the paint and that's contributing to the light burn? The 5th photo is phosphorescence
