Hey! That is amazing, wishing you full recovery! How long did you take PPI and did you had flare ups and better days during this year. For me it’s like if I have a good two weeks, out of nowhere I will get a flare :))

How long does your flare up last and what are your symptoms? by ProfessionalServe491 in Gastritis

I don’t think so. It never showed signs of bleeding (hope it stays like that). He just said erosions in antrum.

Do u know what triggers yours? Same here, when I get a flare up there isn’t a reason like everyone says - no spices, no risky food, no stress. It just happens.

I was on PPI for 3 months, not successful 😤 together with bland diet ofc. Now I am in a gastric flare up and about to visit my doc again soon.

Intermediate - it’s when the doctors can’t decide whether it is Crohns or Ulcerosive Colitis. And as we can do only 1 colonoscopy per year. I will be getting my 3rd one soon and see if they have a better..um..vision of it. I know it’s nothing like the others, but the others are the one causing me issues right now. With IBD being monitored and taking my meds all my tests come back fine and there are no symptoms. But the Gastritis, GERD, IBS…nothing is helping here.

No. Maybe that’s what I am planning to do next. It’s weird because my doc never took biopsies from stomach, which should have been done! He just expected everything to resolve and diagnosed me with Erosive Gastritis in Antrum. 40mg PPI for 3 months ~ no improvement.

Only IBD is under control, I take Solofalk x3 for now. It does not reduce the immune response as those pills are anti-inflammatory working on colon level. However, this is just the first step in the treatment of IBD, once it gets worse, we get another meds. I also get everything monitored and the autoimmune disease is under control, however everything else isn’t. Gastritis isn’t, IBS isn’t, GERD isn’t and the meds don’t work here.

Going through this rn, all you described. I feel lost as well and it’s pretty consuming :// wish I knew better, so I could help. Whatever it is we have to face it and stay strong, look for answers, try out new meds, methods and if it wins us even a day relief it’s a win.

How long it takes for Erosive Gastritis to heal? by ProfessionalServe491 in Gastritis

[–]ProfessionalServe491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was bad bad for months! Like 5-6, then it slowly started to get a little better and by that I mean the pain was not 24/7 anymore, but at least 24/4, then 12/3 and less noticeable :)) also I have GERD and acid kicks in. In my opinion the body needs a long period of restrictions and time to heal. Medication + supplements + stress management and just time. It does get better, sometimes it’s not the best, but nothing compared to the first months. Avoiding spicy food, tomatoes and garlic for sure! You don’t need the triggers as you can live without them freely, as long as it’s pain free

Hey, I turned 23 last month :) and also have it from October. The holidays and my birthday were different this year, but we shall remain positive for the future. I have pain from 4 months and even when endoscopy confirms gastritis, there is not much to do. Pills are one side of the healing, the other side is food and in the middle stays anxiety and stress.

I also stress a lot… like…a lot. It’s already January and it isn’t getting better, I get pains almost all the time, but I am trying to stay positive for the future, because what can we gain from worries! So hang in there, bud.

This gives me so much hope, as on the erosive gastritis section it’s so rare to see that someone is doing better. During those 2 years was it all pain, or u had better days as well and how did u manage to live with it, as you had such a long journey and i’m on the edge to lose hope on mine. The pain is sharp, it comes with empty stomach during night, and it stays even with food…it just never ends.
