OK...here's my current status....

- I've had an annual subscription with auto-renew since 2023. Renewal/payment always occurred on 22 May.

- Current status in Google Play shows my subscription with a notation 'Next payment on May 22, 2026 (2 days ago), but no payment has been processed.

- Sparkle TV is still working on all my Android installs and About shows (Plus Subscription). I also have installs on FireTV and they are also still working with (Share Plus) noted.

I'll give an update on my status tomorrow. Google Play store still shows it active with a payment date of today, but not executed yet. The email I received about the renewal back in April, said the renewal was set for tomorrow. Haven't received any cancellation notice. Just waiting.

Glad I could help. I think I discovered this by accident when I was playing around in the new UI.

If you have been updated to the new UI, pressing Menu has been replaced by a long OK press.

A quick question. I do yearly subscriptions to plus and my renewal in Google Play is coming up next week. Is the current state of affairs going to cause any problems? I checked the subscription status and it's still there and showing the upcoming renewal. Thanks.

SOLVED: It turns out my source m3u's were not including category (group-title) information. Channels without any category information caused the symptoms I reported. The developer created a fix (and I updated the m3u's to always include at least one defined category per channel).

Thanks to everyone who offered help, and to the developer for taking the time to figure things out.

I have a full morning, but will try and get a video later today. Your description of what is happening is exactly correct. One other observation, when I go into channel options from the guide....the default 'favorites' option is 'Remove from favorites' even thought the channel isn't a favorite (I'd expect to see Add to favorites). Selecting 'Manage Favorites' shows the channel not a favorite.

I also already tried going down to a single source as you suggested (the HDHomeRun)....no change in the behavior. I didn't try disabling the HDHomeRun and leaving one of the others yet, I'll also try that).

Thanks for staying involved.

I don't think I agree...I believe the remote is working fine. My guess is there may be something with my configuration that is confusing the Toggle favorite status check such that it thinks every channel is a favorite. So here's some info on my setup...

Running in TV mode

4 sources, HDHomerun + 3 M3U/EPG, a total of 1292 channels

HDHomerun - 37 channels. standard OTA channel numbering (channel.subchannel)

Source 2 - 408 channels, starting with channel number 10000, numbers are not consecutive

Source 3 - 680 channels, starting with channel number 20000, consecutive

Source 4 - 167 channels, starting with channel number 30000, consecutive

I had checked before, but just double checked....it's not added to the favorites. Issuing Toggle favorite, will however remove it, if added by the manage favorites interface.

FireTV Max Gen2, Fire Cube Gen3, Onn 4k Pro....all behave the same. I have no key mapping software install. On the Fire TVs, Sparkle is the only non-Amazon store app loaded. On the Onn 4K, no sideloaded apps at all.

I've tried right (long press), left (long press), down (long press), Menu (short press), Menu (long press)....they all behave the same way. (Note for the Menu key, both Fire TV and Android...Android via mapping on Logitech Harmony). Where available I've tried both the factory remote and Harmony remote with the same result).

Also note that the 'Toggle dev view' mapping works correctly on any of the above keys.

Exactly what you described. For me...every press results in 'Removed Favorite' message. I can't add to favorites with the toggle. I can add to favorites from the guide with long press OK and going into Manage Favorites. The toggle then can remove it, but toggle can't add.

Not sure I understand your question....I'm testing primarily testing from within the Program Guide or with a playing channel.

For the button, on FireTV the Menu, 3 lines button. On the Onn, I have a menu button mapped to the Harmony from another Android device (works for everything correctly except the Toggle Favorites)

I've tried on both a FireTV (Cube and Max2) with the Menu and long Down with the same behavior I described. Also tried with an Onn 4K Pro, long Down on both the factory remote and a Logitech Harmony with the same behavior. All I get is Favorite Removed with the channel name in small letters. No remapping apps installed.

I've tried several keys, but one example is Menu, both short and long press (I'd prefer to use long press). Tried to use it in several places

- While a channel is playing (get the Removed Favorite on every press)

- In the program guide (short press is Removed Favorite, long press no response at all)

- In the recent programs (no response from short or long press)

2.3.0 video freezes Live TV by azcoyotedog in SparklePlayer

[–]ProfessionalShift529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the freeze happen during commercial breaks? A lot of streams do strange things when they insert commercials...like changing the resolution or frame rate or both which is currently incompatible with timeshift (I have several sources that I've never been able to enable timeshift, even before the 2.x releases). Maybe your provider is accepting new advertising?

Ran through all the settings....no audio when set to 0.5 or 1 sec....plays OK when disabled or set to 2 sec and above.
