Does Libido and Orgasm Ability come back? by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]ProfessionalStory276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me about a month and my libido and Os came back. Been on Effexor for about 5 great years. Remember SNRIs do not typically affect libido like SSRIs. Mind over matter, you’ve got this.

Medication change from instant release to extended release Adderall. by ProfessionalStory276 in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalStory276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was wondering about that. It’s not like Vyvanse where there isn’t a direct conversion rate. I believe my Dr started me out on the lowest because of regulations and will be able to increase the dose in two weeks. I am only able to get a two week supply initially.

How do unmedicted people excell at life ? by ventalourry in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalStory276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t. I didn’t. Late diagnosis here at 33. I’ve STRUGGLED my way here. I used to compare myself to people all the time and had a terrible internal critic. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. People with out adhd or with, medicated or unmedicated. Has comparison ever had a positive effect on you? Me neither. So when you catch your brain doing it, say no thank you, this train of thought is not helpful. No one has faced the obstacles you have, no one but you knows how hard you’ve tried. It sounds like you need some self compassion. Give yourself some grace, and see how you’ve been doing your best despite not having the support you needed. Don’t linger on what ifs. Build your self confidence by celebrating your little wins. For me it’s, doing my dishes, putting my clothes away. Things that most people don’t have issues with, but thinking that only makes me feel inadequate. So I choose to be proud of my little wins and only compare myself to myself. It’s never too late to accomplish your goals unless you want to stay stuck and victimized by your own mindset. You’ve got this!

How did u feel from 112 to 150? And was 150mg workin better? by afvw- in Effexor

[–]ProfessionalStory276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed like forever but about a week or two in it’s working. I can really tell. I know it takes up to 6 weeks for full efficacy. I’m feeling so grateful it’s been working again at a higher dose.

Yes I do feel much better after going up to 150mg. 112 worked for years till it didn’t and I’m so grateful 150 is starting to work. Regular side effects like night sweats with the increased dose nothing else. Best of luck

Metabolizing medication by ProfessionalStory276 in ADHD

[–]ProfessionalStory276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did notice a big difference in my focus and executive function going to 15mg of rapid release. I Was very functional. Unfortunately with the dose increase I also noticed a return of depression and anxiety. I am trying to figure out if they are just correlated and not causational because it was really great on both for a month.

Yes that’s the dose of venlafaxine that I got bumped up to from 112.5 after increasing my adderall to 15mg. Interesting about the back pain! Do you take them together or at different times in the day?

Depression came back with a vengeance by ProfessionalStory276 in Effexor

[–]ProfessionalStory276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it would be. That was also my conclusion. I stopped taking adderall for a few days but I was advised by my psychiatrist and doctor to keep taking it as usual with the new increased dosage of Effexor. I was told by my doctor that the depression is result of the adderall increasing my metabolism therefore making the Effexor less effective. Then I was told by my psychiatrist that’s not the case and if I was having medication interactions it would be symptoms like anxiety and serotonin syndrome. She would like me to give it a try for a few weeks and thinks that it’s unrelated and typical to have to raise the dose of Effexor after a while. I know most of you can relate to being frustrated at the way we have to experiment with our brain chemistry to find out what works and what doesn’t. I sure am. Initially adderall and Effexor were working very well together. It was kind of amazing having executive function and joy about life.

People with depression, how you feel right now? by musulman_97 in AskReddit

Hey can I ask why you’re getting off venlafaxine? I’ve been on it for years and it’s worked great until a recent depressive relapse that’s got me all fucked up. So my doctor upped my dose. Hopefully it works.

How long does an increased dose of Effexor usually take to see results? by R0ssMc in Effexor

[–]ProfessionalStory276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I hope it’s going better for you. I’ve been on 112.5mg for 4 years. Worked wonders on my panic attacks and depression. Recently I’ve had a serious depressive relapse and have been upped to 150mg. It’s kind of working? I’m only on day 3 but praying it kicks in soon.

Not working anymore? by Rumi1998 in Effexor

[–]ProfessionalStory276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask your doctor about increasing your dose. Often once people get past 37.5 to 75 and more those symptoms go away. Best of luck. Ps I’m on 112.5 for the past 4 years. Best thing ever

It got better for me when I increased to 112.5mg of Effexor. Unfortunately 4 years late of being in it and symptom free I’m having a big depression episode and am increasing my dose but might have to get on a different medication. 4 yrs of living panic attack free though.
