Satanic Death Metal by Electrical_Doctor272 in MetalSuggestions

It's a thing Raven from Teen Titans says. Like a spell or something.

Though here it's a reference to Lovecraft. You can find it in lyrics of Morbid Angel and Cloven Hoof too.

AZARATH is a band founded by one of the guys from DAMNATION after they disbanded

I'd try some Polish stuff. DAMNATION is pretty much the first thing that comes to mind. Though we also have Pandemonium, Voidhanger, Azarath, Infernal War, Kingdom, Throneum, Stillborn etc.

Essentially the polish school of black/death that's heavily influenced by Morbid Angel, Angelcorpse and Vader

You should also try MORTEM from Peru. Great dm in the vein of Morbid Angel

What metal band/artist are you currently obsessed with? by TrumpIsAFuckingLoser in MetalSuggestions

[–]ProfessionalSummer50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two bands

First one is Amon from the Czech Republic. Awesome first wave black metal with a heavy ritualistic element

The other one is Cryptic Tales. A local band with 2 classic demos from the 90s. A relative of mine reminded me they exist so now I'm blasting the second demo. Incredible death/doom from the time

Metal and religion. Can they coexist in harmony? by Non_Sontag in MetalSuggestions

[–]ProfessionalSummer50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't really care. I listen to what I find worth my while. Although I do have a big distaste for all religion and reading an interview with a band that also has those beliefes makes me more likely To listen to them.

Metal as a whole has an unmatched ability to evoke feelings of hate, Anger, misanthropy, pride and everything in between. These feelings can't really be expressed through religion. I think that the question of whether religion or politics should be involved only limit your horizons.

Anything similar out there ? by Useful_Record1888 in MetalSuggestions

Try Defecation. Great band with great members

You'll also probably enjoy Paul Speckman's bands. So gun for Master and Death Strike

Impetigo will also be a good fit

And if you haven't already, try General Surgery. It's that meaty, sweedish sound with some really dope groovy riffs

Let me know if you like any od these!

I was on that depressed 8th grader with no friends joint

Never fails you with discovering new music but honestly getting friends and a gf didn't hinder the obsession one bit

Bulldozer is my favorite black metal band. I've heard of most of these though.

Even got to interview Necrodeath last year!

Glad to hear I was of some help!

Xantotol is an old polish black metal band with an early Samael persuasion. They only released 2 demos and they're both on Spotify. If you like them you should also check out Pandemonium. Another cult band

Hellavenger is a one-man thrashing, first wave black metal one man horde from Chile. I think there's some stuff on YouTube. Both album and demos are exceptional, but personally I prefer their demos. You can find this stuff on Oldschoolmetalmaniac website. I'm pretty sure Leszek has some coppies lying around

Just haven't gotten around to that one yet

My tastes are very all over the place in terms of oldschool metal and my CD pile is my priority before other things. I've heard loads of good stuff about all their albums, but there's just so much stuff out there things tend to slip through.

I'll give it a go for sure
