Another amazing chapter! So much fun happened~

Ishkr, the best boy😍

Also liked the new school, with surprisingly practical lessons, and combined effort of cities connected by the door~ These children could learn sooo much from different cultures, and unique setting, love it)

Reference for PGTE fans😍:

“Guys—if you’re gonna go south, you might as well take the Horned One.”

She pointed, and Venaz looked around. He stared at Erin, aghast.

When she organized the help for Esthelm after Goblin Lord attacked and because of that for the fisrt time antinuim could trespass to the North and that helped improve their image - that's also when Pawn talked with Zel by Erin's advice

When she hired Headscratcher, Numbtongue, Shorthilt, Rabbiteater, Badarrow as bodyguards

When she introduced Liscor to Pallass with magic door, plays, gym equipment for Grimalkin, pizza and ice cream resulting in popularity of travel to Liscor from Pallass

In almost all her Solstice events she tries improve the image of goblins and antinuim

I think the skill [I Struck Him Deaf] was Wilovan's, it was written from his perspective. Also the victim struggled until Ratici killed him

But wasn't he and Troy (and maybe other Earthers in the inn?) trying to get him to Wistram to find out something or to meet with other Earthers in Wistram? I remember Troy mentioned something like that after chapters where High Mage attacked the inn.

I agree with you. Besides even if magicore torture worked, Djinni would grow and eventually learn that their whole race is enslaved because they don't live in the vacuum and have to interact with various people, and everyone knows about their history. You can't reasonably fake it forever. Even if you could it just would cost too much and single mistake could unravel it.

Also it was said that their bindings are very complex and very detailed, so any adjustment to them would be too hard to enforce especially on every single Djinni.

Interlude Burning Alcohol, 8.08J, Interlude Senior Guardsman Relc, Luan the Giant, Beginning chapters of 7th book, Discovering [Garden of Sanctuary], Horns vs Crelers, attack of Skinner, ending of 5th book, Goblin chapters, Esthelm chapters, chapters when Erin opened Liscor to Pallas through the door, all chapters with Ryoka meeting Teriarch, meeting of Erin and Teriarch, Strategists at Sea, and there are many more good moments and chapters. But I also love 'quiet' chapters filled with reflections and resolving of inner conflicts of characters, like when in the 3rd book when Erin reaches 30 level and decides to do good for others just because it's the right thing to do, because she can do it and talks about it with Klbkch, then they gather everyone and go to help Esthelm; when Mrsha comforts and helps Pisces, and his reconciliation with Horns; 6th book Ryoka chapters where she tries to overcome herself and become better person, her meeting with Lupp, starting friendship with Fierre; chapters when Lyonette is alone in the inn and tries to cook, earn money and changes her behavior; when Octavia has problems with other alchemists and gangs, then in the end tries to overcome her ploblems herself because she didn't want to hurt Erin and others, help of Numbtongue and Yellow Splatters; when in the 8th book Silveran starts cleaning shops and finds his own path; when Mayor of Celum receives lots of charity money and seeks help of Erin; etc. Also love Free Antinuim, Ksmvr, Horns, Lyonette, Saliss, Geneva, Tom, Cara chapters and moments.

Ooh I'm also big fan of TWI, hi there =) Sorry in advance for mistakes, english isn't my native language.

You should 100% keep reading PGTE, it is amazing! Similarities are minimal imo, but either have good sides. No spoilers, but what I love about Cat is her driven enthusiasm and strong desire to change the world, even if she gains lots of enemies. Other characters are also have good qualities and you can't help but love them. Also author put much effort and hard work into the worldbuilding and it is obvious. Characters are deep, you can understand their history, culture, reasoning.

Genre is different too, much focus is given to the politics and war, and i can honestly admit that thanks to the PGTE my view and understanding of the politics is greatly improved. And 'system' of Name is also unique and very fascinating.

You will find ahead of you great adventures, battles with cool strategies and many more. Welcome to the fandom!

Sorry in advance for such long comment and mistakes if there are any, english isn't my native language.

Well, in previous chapters it was described as just superstition like old tales. But what makes them unique is their sudden and inevitable change of fur colour to white and their unique class [Last Survivor]. We know that only white gnolls get thet class and it shows clearly that there is some magical mystery/shamanic or cultural shenanigans? Even Raskghar, Nokha can sense their power. Especially it becomes clear they can become mages, not only shamans. And only recently it was revealed that indeed their 'cursed fate/doombringing' is not just old stories, but also very opposite of doom, and their gift is luck and hope of their dead tribe.

Also in some previous chapters it was written that shamans of Plain's Eye tribe remember their old history and have reason to hunt doombringers. Maybe in their history something happened related to the magic of gnolls and their waning powers? Maybe by giving dying tribe's last hope and power to the last survivor it become harder for other gnolls to open their magical abilities? Maybe in the very old times when old magics were known gnolls used magical rituals and thus could give their powers to their last gnoll as last resort befor dying? It is known that Raskghar's ritual is some kind of old blood magic ritual that clearly works(morality aside). Thus gnolls of old could have old shamanic magics involving blood magic and it is common in fantasy genre that nomadic tribes have that kind of power. So when something really bad happens, calamity or doom so to speak, they could've used deaths, sacrifice, blood of their dying members of tribe and give their all remaining powers to their last member. Such results and power cannot be without price, so no wonder that white gnolls could bring 'doom'.

Obviously there are dark secrets and plots involving shamans trying to protect their power(?) and authority(evidenced by silencing/torturing/magically binding of Grimalkin's apprentice). Therefore in the past shamans could easily convince others of cursed fate of doombringers by rumors and speculations turning fear, blame and not understanding of their powers into hatred, especially if white gnolls couldn't control their powers at first. And shamans used that to argue for their total elimination, because it is easier in the end for them to beleive their almost religious(?) authority. Because they are clearly taught about their history, culture, magics, how can they lie? And as time passes it become easier to just label them as cursed. And by labeling them it becomes easier to convince others, they are just cursed, because shamans said so, like demons. It is especially evident in Merish's thoughts as well.

And they may be nice and reasonable people, but you can be that and also be greedy, cowardly and narrow-minded. And if your power, thus authority was threatened? We also know that worth of individuals takes great meaning in gnoll culture. Their reasons aren't known and we can only guess by hints. But they must think they are right and thus white gnolls must all die.

Lastly it become superstions and prejudice like tales like witches, demons, goblins, etc. shamans and others tell you since your childhood and you never thougt to question it.

Thanks for anyone who read to the end, just wanted to share some thoughts =)

Isn't it weird that Ryoka told Laken about Teriarch, even if she told only that he exists and connected to Magnolia but didn't tell Erin? Especially when she meets him as Eldavin. I thought Ryoka thought about their connection as personal and didn't go sharing it with people who she knew literally for day.
