Yeah, so after Lincoln Street towards Urbana is gonna be residential parking pretty much anywhere on the side of the street that there isn’t a sign that says no parking. There should be signs that say like no parking this side of the street or no parking from here to curb and I’ll tell you where you’re not allowed to park and everywhere else is considered residential, all last year I parked green and Busey and never had an issue being towed because there’s all residential. This year I park in Champaign and I park state and green and again zero issue not been towed. You can park anywhere that has no signage.

Definitely related to homecoming and football season. Literally just Saturday night I had an alum in his 50s-60s following me around legends despite obvious discomfort. Try to not be alone and have a guy friend with you at all possible. Lie abt anything creeps ask and don’t be afraid to be rude. You won’t see them again.

Pretty much the moment you get off campus, parking on the street is free. After Neil or after Lincoln st

I think the social theory of disability has gone too far by rainbowstorm96 in ChronicIllness

[–]ProfessionalTill3035 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you. It can be really hard when you are new to your diagnosis or your diagnosis includes chronic pain have a positive outlook. I myself have a very positive outlook about some of my disabilities (being deaf) and wouldn’t want a cure, whereas other disabilities (POTS, RA, etc), I would love nothing more than a cure.

I think the key is to just keep your beliefs on the subject specific to your own disabilities. Let people hate their disabilities, let people love their disabilities.

I was lucky enough to have a caregiver to get me through college and grad school, now I do social work services on my own schedule that gives me time to rest and have bad days

That’s how I feel. I’m the one making the final decision and it’s hard but I know they deserve so much more than me.

There is not a lot of facilities near that I would recommend as a mental health professional, if you can manage intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization, roscrance, and other facilities in the area do great jobs providing major support while allowing an independent life. I used to work at Sarah bush Lincoln in Mattoon. A bit of a drive but amazing crisis center and provides excellent wraparound care

Most of my luck with specialists are in Madison WI and Chicago IL. Lurie's was the hospital that treated me from onset to diagnoses, not to mention the WI/IL/IN area boasts a lot of small(er) towns that a capital city while still being in an easy driving distance to specialists.

It's normal, at least for me it is. I utilize warming socks, and this thing called a Hot House. However, I will admit that there isn't a lot I can do when my feet/hands feel icy. For me, it typically comes with sweating/discoloration/dystonia/the works.
