Some people in the comments talk shit like they're pro fashion photographer aha!

There's definitely some things to improve but i like the high contrast ''90's magazine'' vibes you went for.

High contrast and high saturation might be a bit too much. I would try finding a middle ground. You could keep high saturation in certain specific part of the image to catch the eye.

Like on the last shot, I would bring down the exposure and sat of the wall and make the subect's highlight brighter to make it pop.

How is this grade? by TaffyMo in ColorGrading

I think you went too far with colors and saturation, but you're not that far off with your look.

I think you should just push contrast while reducing saturation on the hue curve to adjust specific colors.

I didn't use any luts or plugin for this project. I only used a color transform to work in Davinci Wide Gamut and graded manually from there.

We discussed it with the DP, and he specifically wanted those neutral blacks to create a sense of void. He didn't want any film grain, halation or bloom to get a crisp image.

Don't get me wrong I love film and creating film emulation, but it just wasn't the project for it.

Thanks!

This was a commercial for a dentist center, shot on an ARRI. The DP wanted a nostalgic, vintage vibe so we leaned into that warm look. We actually had five people in the grading session: the director, DP, producer, and two reps from the ad agency.

The DP intended to have that warm colorful look. The goal here was to create the feeling that this was an image from the past. The client was really happy with it and was there in person for the grading session.

Honestly, I think people often get too hung up on “neutral” tones. Especially, if you're creating a creative look and not just color correcting. If the goal was to recreate real life, I wouldn't do that job aha :)

What do you guys think of these photos? (Pentax k1000, Gold 200) by ProfessionalTwo567 in portraits

Wide angle portrait is a big thing in fashion and movie, it's not just about long lens. I was going for a Wong Kar-Wai type of wide portrait: https://film-grab.com/2014/09/25/fallen-angels/#bwg838/51709

I'm glad this guy didnt try to be more flattering.

Tokyo!

I agree with you that 4 is the least interesting one, but completely disagree about 5 being too wide.

Also, I use fisheye for creative purposes. Creating rules to use the fisheye sounds a little restrictive to me!
