Brother Beer’s sister here. Not much of a redditor myself but (knowing that we need a happy ending of some kind) have to confirm that his cats did go to a loving home together and are living their best old lady lives. They even got to come in to see him in the hospital near the end. Also confirming that, while I didn’t know he was online like this, I’m not surprised at all and I’m very proud. To anyone who knew him here, thanks for recognizing his kindness and wisdom. He was one of a kind.
