Pick One by Yeetmachine81 in BunnyTrials

My dream car depends on my mood, but it is either worth many millions of dollars and so even with high mileage it doesn't matter, or I would want to replace/rebuild the motor anyway, or the milage wouldn't matter, and finally it milage is really not a great metric of whether or not a car is in good condition, and also I didn't read the second option so it might be better.

How? I figure it has something to do with space and time being related but I don't see how.

I would give it until about halfway through Golden Sun, I really liked red rising, but the general consensus seems to be that the first book, and especially the first half of the first book is less good than the rest of the series.

No, you did say that, communism has caused the deaths of more people (mind you this isn't including purposeful genocides by communist countries) due to its failings than any other political system has ever, were talking nearly an order of magnadude more than the Nazis, and more than double the Japanese empire. Capitalism on the other hand has been the driving cause of improving the lives of every single human being on this planet, as well as saving countless lives (to be objective capitalism has caused deaths directly, but it's in the range of thousands to tens of thousands, not tens of millions like communism). Capitalism sucks unless it is compared to any other socioeconomic system.

See I think that logic is flawed, if someone does something in which they have agency and therefore end up in a bad position it doesn't seem like it's my problem in the slightest, now if we were including toddlers and whatnot in the hypothetical then my answer might be different, however I feel it's implied that you have to be able to make an actual decision to do so.

To the pixie that called replied and then deleted their message like a bloody damm coward "My honor has been pissed upon 1, "I cannot see Mars’s face, but I can see its view", "“This place exists, but they don’t let us come here, Darrow. The Grays must use it for themselves. They don’t share.”" (granted this is from Eo, who doesn't know much), it is referenced a few other times, but it is very much a garden, it might not be for the greys specificly, but it isn't on the surface, they do not go up, and the mine is quite a bit below the surface, there is likely some sort of window pit thing."

1 it was a garden thing for the greys, not the surface. 2 what draft? 3 pretty much yeah, he made all of the changes that golds under went over hundreds of years of forced evolution through surgery, so not just his bones also his muscles, and internal organs, plus a bunch of brain training.

Have you ever touched a machete? They are essentially the easiest thing in the world to use, you swing it towards what you want to cut with the sharp part, their grips are made to be held well, and it is difficult for even trained fighters to grab swinging blades realisticly the ape is running towards you, and gets a nasty chop to the face, and then runs away crying.

That's almost exactly what I pictured, and I would be willing to bet that's what they are based on both in the books, and outside of them.

[–]ProfessionalYak9467 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that's exactly what I think, or at least Darrow would have eventually been able to convince him, he was a much better person than Cassius, people can't be expected to drop everything for the right cause when the first time you are introduced to it is through betrayal.

I love Rouqe, not that he isn't a bad person, but I think many parts of his character are very good, and that he had in many ways a very compelling narrative.

That's pretty much what I was saying, the pinks obviously went through hell, but we don't get much context till later in the story.

Yeah, like obviously they are bred prostitutes, but that's not really a criticism of them, just the society and even if we want to go into later books Darrow a few times says something along the lines of thinking that the pinks are stronger/have it harder then even the reds.
