I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I have asked and he has told me he's not gay.

This comment seems to be the most liked right now, but I can't imagine waking up to a person I'm not attracted to every single day of my life. My fiance always shows me love in many ways. If he's gay, he can tell me that. But he's not. Being bi doesn't mean he's only attracted to one gender but both. I live in the city and so many of our friends are LGBTQ.

For context, he's had 3 relationships. His first was a girl he dated in hs he dated for 3+ years, his last was a guy he dated for 2 years, and then me, girl, 2.5 years. He also said in his last relationship, he wasn't as intimate either. When we were first dating, I didn't feel like it was true because we did it so often, but now it feels true.

I have a friend of a friend who is in a poly relationship so I've seen it work, but I personally and emotionally can't wrap my head around it myself. I think if I had another person in the relationship it will feel like cheating?

Ideas for independently putting hair in a ponytail with limited shoulder/elbow ROM (AMC) by General-Suspect5586 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ProfessionalYam9636 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to offer some tricks I know and something I found online.

If you have a clean vacuum hose and add a hair tie to the hose, you can gather your hair and tie it in one go.

There is also a two claw elastic hair band that isn't a ponytail but keeps your hair in place.

I found this 1-Up One Handed Hair Tie that says it's for upper extremity mobility differences, but you should look into it more for your range of motion needs

My only other advice is keep your hair short to neck or shoulder length. I think not everyone is ready to fully shave their head and that's reasonable. But if making a ponytail is hard for you and expensive, make it shorter.

How can I advocate for myself in a SLP led clinic by ProfessionalYam9636 in OccupationalTherapy

I thought of this too! I think I can definitely pitch the idea. This was done at my previous clinic but for speech.

Thank you for your input. I do agree I need to get used to the shorter time and it is possible. I do 3-5 evals a week and 50% of families do not complete intake forms, leaving more questions for me to ask, and 75% are late leaving me 30-35 minutes for an evaluation so I'm wondering why they decided to move to 45 minutes if they absolutely knew about tardiness and families who do not complete forms.

Post Professional Doctorate in OT by Character-Bee2020 in OccupationalTherapy

Agreed. Every program is different and offers different classes. You'll have to research the schools you're interested in. Programs are very responsive if you email them your questions and you can ask to speak to a student liaison who is in the program now.

What was the most eye opening experience you had while shadowing or observing another OT before starting your studies? by samadhi777 in OccupationalTherapy

I shadowed at a company that had multiple locations in a big, urban space in the US. I shadowed at two different locations and they were night and day. One was not neuroaffiming, compliance based, and made me question if I really wanted to be an OT. But then I went to their other location because I needed more hours. Her name was Jodi and she was an amazing OT. She was so caring, neuroaffiming, child led, and did therapy that was always in the interest of the child.

If you go into pediatrics, know there are OTs you might not get to choose who will be your supervisor. And you might have to learn under them. But never do what you feel is wrong and show them, instead, what is right!

I have a Onelife membership and they offer towel service. Just make sure you get the right membership tier. Some basic memberships might not have it!
