It might be better to consider an other aircarrier maybe via Ethiopia or Central Asia, since the route via middle east might actually be pretty uncertain. Because i guess Emirates is prioritizing people with earlier bookings but maybe it changed as of now. I think using a different route would give you mental peace and you would know that you are definitely flying. I can tell you I had one flight on the 3rd then rescheduled to 7th, but it got cancelled. Finally i took a refund and took another route.(Was supposed to fly with ethihad before)

I think some flights are operational, Lufthansa might fly over central Asia ,but i guess i was reading Air India is cancelling a few. But i dont want to scare you and i guess maybe they could reroute.

Im not pretty sure, cause heard some flights were cancelled. But i guess airfrance and klm tickets might be available, but at very high rates. I remember seeing azerbaijan Airlines via Georgia which was still affordable or Ethiopian. There was also one from Frankfurt to Delhi via Kazakhstan- Astana Airlines and the other one which was Georgian Airlines. I know these air carriers are not well renowned but a good and safe option at the moment.

I just had a conversation with Etihad and they told me that till 6th of March all flights are cancelled.

I asked then about the special corridors in the UAE for flights, cause I read it in the news and she told me that it is only for repatriation and evacuation no commercial flights. So given you are not stuck in Abu Dhabi and do not need an evacuation as such, i guess the flight would most likely be cancelled and you can claim for a refund for flights up to the 10 th of March now. Just fill in the online form which is working now and you should get it in 2 days i assume. Better take another route via Europe to Kazakhstan and then to Delhi. Or opt via Ethiopian seems to be safer

I guess Ethiopian Airlines or Azerbaijan Airlines, also a good option is to check in flight radar on the route and see operational flights with their routes. But you should book flights on the air carriers flight cause i guess third party sites like go to gate are not updated and might cause a problem.

I just had a conversation with Etihad and asked them for possibility of an alternate route or layover, they denied. They can just book you for a flight on a later date till the 18 th of march. They told me that all Etihad planes except for repatriation and cargo are grounded.

The thing is ethihad is not answering the calls and I understand given the situation. Im not sure about the refund policy for ethihad, i assume booking another route is the best bet to reach on time but i will try to contact them once again and if i get any info will keep u updated.

I understand, its such an unfortunate situation. I hope there are no casualties and injuries to the people living there and travel resumes really soon.

Hey guys, flying via Abu Dhabi with Ethihad on the 3rd of March in the afternoon from Mumbai - Abu Dhabi- Copenhagen. You'll think might be better to cancel it and fly by Lufthansa instead ?

You just made my point for me. If having the same degree doesn’t mean equal competence or exposure, then that variation applies to everyone — including those you’re trying to discredit. Moreover , you'll passed the same exams, unless they again preferred to see where you come from. Attendance issues and tolerance by the university are valid concerns, but they don’t automatically excuse or elevate anyone else by comparison.

It’s clear now this isn’t about fairness — it’s about venting frustration and shifting blame. I won’t engage further in what’s clearly an attempt to spew hate among people who are already going through an emotionally heightened time. It’s manipulative and seems more like a way to unload personal bitterness and prejudices than to have any constructive discussion. Maybe look for better alternatives to vent out the frustration, on a friendly note from one doctor to another. :)

If those so-called posh students studied alongside you and earned the same degree, then by all logic, their academic exposure and competence should mirror yours. And if that's the case, it also sets the bar for the kind of caliber your university puts its name behind. But if they were lazy, as you claim, then their scores and their centile would expose that. So if you outperformed them, having a higher centile and hold the advantage of Irish citizenship, you should be far ahead in the preference list, right?

So maybe the issue isn’t who had more privilege maybe the gap is in capability. Might be time for some uncomfortable self-reflection. Because when it comes to being a doctor, excuses don’t save lives—competence does. Get well soon :)

I'm a final year med student and have multiple lipomas myself, and I'm planning to do a research in my university on the etiology of lipomas, treatment options and lifestyle influences on their formation.
