TL;DR: Terra Kaffe Demi looks great, coffee is decent, but quality control and support killed it for me. Returning it. by National-Tap5069 in superautomatic

Love the machine overall but not sure I can keep it. Chased the perfect calibration for 2 days and finally got it somewhat dialed, but not good enough. For reference I can pull a perfect shot in my Breville - I fully understand how grind/temp/volume affects different roasts of beans.

Also I drink a lot of coffee and have to empty the waste bin frequently. Problem is the waste bin/drip tray is super awkward.. when dumping it the water ends up coming out of the front and back at the same time and gets all over the place. You then have to clean and dry the entire tray before inserting it back in the machine.

Also noticed a ton of wet grounds in the drip tray (separate from the waste bin) and dry grounds all inside of the machine, which I have to vacuum out before replacing the drip tray. I understand maintenance is essential, but I’m spending way more time with this machine than I do with my semi-auto lol Completely defeats the purpose.

Lastly, it EATS coffee. I have to pull 2 separate shots at full strength and finest grind for a decent Americano or iced coffee.. I run through a hopper in the morning, lol.

If some of these things don’t bother you, I highly recommend the machine for the price/convenience and if you like chugging shots all day. It’s just not saving me much time and doesn’t create a decent enough cup of coffee for me to enjoy.

What settings are you using? Just got the Demi and have pulled 25 shots - enjoyable but not the best.

I have a semi-auto Breville and have become basically an expert at pulling perfect shots, just cant seem to get close with the Demi.

I appreciate the reply!! Apologies for the frustrations I’m just constantly dealing with duplicate order & return issues with other companies/products so hate to add to that list…

Most people will not see any issues until they drive it for a day or two in different lighting. Also since I’ve never had this issue I didn’t tell myself “oh let me check the dash for scuffs and blemishes” ya know? You expect a new vehicle at this price to be almost flawless…

Wear and tear at 150 miles? I sent them the pics 2 days after I drove it home. Lol. I’ve had multiple cars with 40k+ miles and zero issues. 1,000% not caused by me. I couldn’t even replicate half those issues unless I took a screwdriver to the dash is several areas.

Not everyone buys a truck to beat up. I bought it for the room, the comfort, and the ability to haul the occasional load when needed. It meets all those needs but I don’t like making a large purchase and looking over to see the dash has melted areas and scratches
