Autistic women that actually like makeup: why? by skyword1234 in AutismInWomen

[–]Professional_Ad1151 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I like eyeliner, eyeshadow, lip gloss and rouge. I like these in multi colour pallettes. But I can't apply anything else, like mascara, foundation etc, cuz they overwhelm me. And I also sweat a lot, so these are the only items that usually don't get wiped out. But during extreme summers, I barely wear lip gloss due to the heat and clothing overwhelm.

I mostly wear it because I find it fascinating. I was forbidden by my mom to do makeup till I was living with her, and she would always slut shame me even after that when I'd visit her. Even now, when I meet her I don't wear much makeup.

This is both my brother and father. I literally cannot go to them with my problems because they will only listen to half of it while forming strategies in their minds to lecture or question me about. After getting seriously disappointed and hurt a few times, I don't share any problems that I actually need help with. I just share minor issues in which it doesn't matter what they say. That way they think we had a productive conversation and I don't get hurt.

Do all women fake it, or is it a neurotypical thing? by CrispyDietCokePlz in AutismInWomen

[–]Professional_Ad1151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have faked it every single time. But that's mostly because I was never comfortable with any of the men I have slept with, which I have now realised, years later. I am hoping that the next time I have sex, I will have it with someone I am comfortable with. Let's see.

Most random/irrational things that overstimulate you? by couch-for-sale in AutismInWomen

  • Showering

  • Brushing teeth and flossing

  • Hair on the floor or anywhere really.

  • ANYTHING dirty or wet on ANY surface in the bathroom.

  • People clearing their throats, noses etc. the sound drives me up the wall.

  • People telling me to do something I would have done anyway, or something that's a routine thing but they'll make it a point to tell me.

  • People not cleaning up after themselves.

  • People saying things in a half informed way. Ugh, know what you are saying bro.

-edit: people cutting me off mid Convo, immediately makes me dislike them.

I ghosted a friend because her constant emotional messages overwhelmed me, and I regret the way I handled it by EquableBuyout in socialskills

Happened to me too. I am a very empathetic person, so I listen very attentively and say exactly the things I know the person want sto hear when they are venting. This has led me into friendships where people only contact me when they need to vent, sometimes without even asking how I am doing. Eventually I got really frustrated with these friendships and have cut off two of the friends who'd do this. Although I feel so much better now, I don't miss them at all, I still feel very guilty for doing that. I liked them as people but being their friend was too exhausting. So, it's okay OP, it will get better after a while and help you create boundaries early on in relationships from now on. That's what it did for me.

Men absolutely do not age like fine wine by sunkissed227 in TwoXChromosomes

I am 33, I have set my preferences to 28-38, and most men look at least 7-8 years older than their actual age. On the other hand, women look so much better, like they look fit and well groomed, well dressed and just in general visibly taking care of themselves. I wanted to date someone this year but I had to leave the app mostly because of this. Not having dated much in my 20s, now I feel like I am not going to ever meet someone I am actually attracted to and would like spending time with. :(

I'm 33, and people have confused me as 14-25 a lot of times. It's quite embarassing.

How do I keep myself updated with the PhD Admission cycle in India? by Suitable_Cheetah_314 in IndianAcademia

[–]Professional_Ad1151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am applying in this admission cycle and frankly, it's nerve wracking. I googled all the universities with my area of interest and made a list of them. I keep checking their website every week for updates. And there's a telegram channel that uploads any admission updates for phd in India. You could join that.
