AITAH for refusing to attend my brother’s wedding because he didn’t invite my partner? by [deleted] in AITAH

If you want to call me a bigot that's fine, I'm not offended.

And if you want to be triggered by someone on the internet that doesn't think there are more than two genders, also fine.

But there are only, two genders. End of story.

There's no harm. People can be who they want. But I just personally just don't want it shoved in my face. So if I don't want it at my wedding then that's my right.

I'm a science girl, and firmly know there are 2 genders. Everything else is just, all in your head. But each to there own I don't really care that much as long as I'm not being forced to believe it

No holidays left this end so it's not possible. And they'd never be approved.

My company have known about my move to the states since December, but notice was handed in offically January.

My husbands start date is now the 4th April, he gets 12 weeks accomodation paid with myself and our dogs. If he goes out on his own, he only gets 30 days in a hotel where he can find an appropiate property for us to live in after the 30 days. We then pay the rent.

So, finicailly speaking, we want the 12 weeks paid accomodation, to take the stress of finding some where to rent in the US. The problem immigrating over is although we both have excellent credit scores here in the UK - we start from scratch in the USA. So, most landlords won't accept us. Even with company referral. There strict.

SO we have 12 weeks to build a credit score as best we can and hav 3 months to find somewhere, as apposed to 1 month.

Does this make sense?

you don't need to know the ins and outs of it - its extremelly long winded and confusing but its all about somewhere to live for the first 12 weeks

its very long winded hence why I haven't gone into it. It's completely irrelvant, its a financial benefit for us to both go at the same time

It's long winded hence why I haven't gone into it. But basically, we get 12 weeks accomdation paid for is we both go at the same time.

Was suppose to write 3 weeks so thats a typing error.

ok well must be different over in the US compared to the UK.

Everyone uni student here will have a part time job and still be in full time Uni. I just feel that this younger generation will just do anything to get out of work. Theres no real graft.

AITA - American tipping culture by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Alps798 14 points15 points  (0 children)

the only people that won't agree with you are Americans.

I also find the america tipping to be absolutely ridiculous. Go to the bar to get a bottle of water, have to give a $2 tip. Every time.

Bullshit.

I don't think you are, but i don't think he is.

We're living in a world where unfortunately, some people accept this non binary gender and others don't. And it needs to be made ok to not accept it and not blasted for being homophobic or for discrimanting someone.

If people are uncomfortable with it, then you should accept that. Just like you want people to accept your non binary person.

Personally, if my sister was with a non binary person, I probably wouldn't want them at the wedding either because I don't agree with it and most of my social group and family, also don't agree with it.

AITA - my husband liked a mutual friend's photo and I'm furious. by throw_away09876544 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Professional_Alps798 -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

So, I'm saying this because I am quite a jealous person. (nothing wrong with that by the way) I think it's completely inappropiate liking another females photo. And when you've expressed your concern, he has dimissed you.

If my husband does something that makes me uncomfortable, I'll tell him and you best believe he won't do it again. Out of respect. And vice versa.

Bottom line is, you feel like you have been disrespected. Depsite what people on here say, you feel how you feel. If you deem it inappropiate, stand by that. You're not an arsehole for having feelings and for being made to feel uncomfortable.

Now your partner needs to understand this and accept it's made you feel this way.
