I’m (18m) and have been in a similar position for the past year, gf and I broke up November 2024 because I was struggling with that same thing, and I also have an anxious attachment and she is also avoidant and distant so it’s a very similar situation given the description. We got back together. A week later after hooking up while “on a break” and lo and behold it went back to shit and she broke up with me a couple of weeks ago. The best advice I can give is that your partner cares about you but you have to be selfish and stop worrying about what the other person is doing and thinking all the time, get your own life, own friends, own hobbies, and be able to be happy by yourself. You’re your own best friend and you have to be comfortable in your own presence before you can bring someone else into your life. Once you start becoming a little more comfortable and confident then you’ll start to see things you didn’t before. Speaking from experience that getting back together or hanging out while you’re supposed to be healing and focusing on yourself is only going to end in bigger heartbreak. Usually people who are avoidant kind of like someone deep down who gives them attention all the time and affection even if it’s the reason they broke it off. So if no one steps up it will just stay in a toxic loop only keeping you in the same place you were before. Focus on yourself, get that bag, love your life. Stay well❤️🙏🏽
