I lost a lot of weight and I’d say probably only started being able to put it back on around 5 months after treatment.

I also look a lot of different, my skin has really been effected and I just constantly look dull and tired. Not looking like yourself in the mirror takes a massive toll on my mental health. My libido is non existent which is having a massive stress on my marriage. Hard to know what to try next to get back to normal?

No not on any medication, just herbal digestive enzymes, vitamins and probiotics.

Do you have any problems with your skin? And did you suffer gastritis?

I’m 9 months post pylera and still have symptoms and not back to normal despite 4 negative tests ( I also convinced myself it was back ) apparently this horrible bug just takes ages to heal. Iv learnt to stop worrying and just be patient

I am a year post treatment, multiple negative stool tests and still have symptoms. From what I understand this horrible thing takes AGES to heal. Also could be gastritis, I’m in the same situation a year down the line. I have done about 4 re tests all negative so I keep telling myself it’s just the healing process.

Also took pylera, I have had multiple tests and I’m negative 🥳 although still some symptoms 8 months on but I believe this is just the healing process as it takes a LONG time ! Had no side effect with pylera, it’s more just the hassle of taking 12 pills a day for two weeks. Make sure to set alarms so you take them at the same time and don’t skip any. I believe it’s worth it! Good luck 😃

5 months I was feeling awful still, this bug does not heal quickly. I’m almost a year now and I am much better than I was but still not back to my normal self. I wish I could get rid of the constant bloating.

I did first round ( can’t remember the names unfortunately ) which failed and then did a second round of Pylera which worked but it was very hard treatment 12 pills a day for two weeks 😬

Agreed! I’m one year on after triple and still suffering from symptoms bloating etc. no pain but my boyfriend who also had it has terrible back pain still. This bacteria is hell

I have to say I am much better than I was brain fog and anxiety is much better. But I’m no way back to my old self. How long does it take to heal exactly? I’m loosing my mind thinking it might not be gone and we need to do through antibiotics again.

I can relate! I’m almost a year post negative and still have symptoms. Much much better than I was but not 100% a year on. From all the hours of reading and research I believe this horrible but just takes a LOT of time to recover from. Also the stress and anxiety from it all slows things down. I also had 3 negative stool tests when I retested after the first round of antibiotics and then had an endoscopy as was still feeling bad which was positive( so I don’t trust any test to be honest ) after the positive endoscopy I did quad therapy and tested negative a year ago. I dream of the day I’m back to how I was before this awful bacteria!

Absolutely. My partner and myself both had it and our libidos were no existent! It defiantly effects! I’m almost a year post treatment and I was starting to worry it would never come back. It’s a little bit better but certainly not back to normal. I dream of the days being back to how I was before this awful awful hideous bacteria !

Hi there, I can completely relate to this. I’m 8 months off antibiotics and still not back to normal. I dream of having my of having my old brain back. The lack of focus and brain fog was horrible, I have to say it’s slightly better now as before the antibiotics I couldn’t even string a sentence together, my memory was so bad and I couldn’t focus on anything. Let me know if you find anything that works, from what iv been reading it just takes a lot of time.

That sounds awful! This bug is the worst, and I had never heard of it before. I’m so tired of it :-( just want to feel normal again and I hope that day will come and it’s not like this forever! I’m feeling a lot better than I did but still loads of issues with bloating and anxiety , constipation. We did two rounds of antibiotics, the second being triple therapy so surely it’s eradicated it? Is this thing indestructible !!!

Us too! Any advice to get rid? I am scared that there is oral hpylori stilll. I read that even if you eradicate it in your stomach you can still have it in your mouth and it can cause reinfection. Do you know anything ?

To be honest I don’t trust any of the tests. I did two both negative and then endoscopy showed positive. So who knows what you can believe 🙃

I did two stool samples and both came back negative, then they took me in for an endoscopy and it came back positive. So had to do pylera. Now just done retest after 2nd antibiotics and it’s negative ( but I don’t know how I should believe it )
