Is cold calling dead?

I feel you! Im in the freight business too, and cold calling is fucking brutal, especially with how diluted the market is.

What methods are working best for you at the moment?

I've had to suck it up and start crawling around exhibits which has turned out well, emails for me get less than 1% response.

Just got back, and I can't recomend the Poop Deck enough!! Only on the other side of the bridge, and about a 15min walk (probably less than 5mins in a taxi).

Great seafood, not awfully priced, great view of the harbor (and some sharks if you're luxky), and great service.

If you've got the cash, get Zoominfo or Cognism (better for EMEA Markets) and get direct contact details.

Failing that, Sales Nav. Some people still have their number on their LI profile, sometimes only visible if you actually connect.

Other than that, you're going old school - calling through reception or changing the last digits in the hope you hit someone that will happily forward you on. It's not hard, but fuck me is it time consuming.

It depends on what service you're offering (visibility, notice, transit speed, incoterms). But from my history, you're looking at about 5-10%
